This are all pretty good . I have several automations at home, one of them is that every morning at a a certain hour when im going to wake up the lights strip of my tv that is mounted to the wall will turn on warm light deem, the fan will turn off, and a Lamp on the hallway will turn on too. 😊 planing on doing more things

Good ideas! I’m new to automations, but my first use was to automate my holiday lights. I’m old enough to remember having to go outside to unplug everything late at night when it’s freezing. My inflatables were on one plug to stay on from 7AM till 10PM. My other outlet had the lights at sunset for four hours. I put the inside tree on auto as well so it turns off at midnight but turned on if anyone woke up before sunrise.

Regarding automatically unlocking your door with a location based automation, you get the confirmation if your location-based automation triggers the door. The way I avoid this is the fact that you can have another automation trigger the automation to unlock the door, and you don’t get a confirmation for that. When I get home, my location turns on a smart plug. Doesn’t have to be connected to anything, but mine is connected to a lamp. I then have an automation for “when X smart plug is turned on” unlock my door. So when I get home, my smart plug turns on my lamp (well, the smart plug my lamp is connected to). My lock is configured to unlock when that plug gets turned on. No confirmation there. Now don’t forget to tell your automation to turn off your smart plug after say 5 minutes, otherwise the next time the automation runs, it won’t work. (Your plug needs to be off for the automations to work).

Which bulbs or switches do you have that allow turning on to dim level? All the switches I’ve tried seem to first turn on either at full brightness or the last setting and then adjust, which defeats the purpose of turning on dim only at night if it goes full brightness first.

Am new to this and my lights both seem to auto-default to their original setting when they go on at their scheduled time in the evening. Everything is up to date and this is very frustrating

I have an automation requirement. I want to use a smart plug to put a device in timeout.

I have wifi router that I want to go off for 30 minutes then cut back on automatically.

1. Tap shortcut "Wife Timeout 30 mins"

2. Router plug power cuts off for 30 minutes

3. Router power cuts back on automatically 30 minutes later.
