The major issue here is putting the battery inside the deadbolt… willing to bet that thing will not hold up to even a fraction of the force required to break through a normal deadbolt. And on top of a break in you might have a battery fire start literally right on your door

This lock is vulnerable to low skill attacks and the deadbolt can be easily brute forced because of the thin material and it also makes the deadbolt vulnerable to sawing.

The problem with fitting the battery into the deadbolt is that it compromises the strength of the deadbolt. I ended up going for the Schlage Encode Plus, which also supports Apple HomeKey, instead. For essentially the same price, I have an built-in keypad I can set up with 99 guest codes, if I want. And I prefer the ease of replacing the batteries—just slide the battery carrier off the back of the lock and replace the batteries, which I believe are standard AA batteries—another plus IMHO.

Well in my country I would’ve liked the lock if it had an actual deadbolt 😂. Integrating battery in deadbolt make it weak than literally all of standard locks available here 😂

Ive had a similar one to this for years now and I wondered about the battery issue at first but it gives you a notification when it's at reasonably low battery (8-10% so a few weeks) which gives you more than enough time to change it out before it runs out (my one does at least)

Try and use a magnet to open it. Usually electric locks really suck at keeping people out.

I use an older HomeKit lock from 4 years ago, stuck an NFC sticker to the outside of my door, create a shortcut, tap my phone to it, unlocked!

Lol, as a locksmith, the idea of the battery inside the deadbolt mechanism itself is very creative .. but definitely not on the safe side for being a reliable and secure primary lock on your house front door 🚪 😂
