I resisted discipline, goal setting and structure for years, thinking it impeded my freedom and flow. Now I recognise that discipline, goal setting and creating structure, implemented by me allows more freedom and flow in my life. And yes, while I do think the Universe and the Creator do guide me, I realise that I still am the one who has to do the work. This video, brings to mind the question "Where does your power lay?". Internal or external? Handing it over to someone or something external is a cop out and allows you to blame that external source when it doesn't go as you want. The last 3-4 years have really magnified this. Love the shower analogy! Mixing humour with truth, just wonderful. Thank you for the reminder.

The Universe guides you in a way believe it or not the work you have to do yourself the universe is not going to do the work for you but you will receive clear signs about what you have to do for me it was dentist i didnt care about myself once and i had a spiritual awakening after my awakening i was receiving a lot of signs same with gym in the end of the day i have to go and do the work we all do but you have divine guidance it's beautiful

I think the reason people do this is because we are so harassed and beaten down and oppressed in our jobs or toxic relationships in Western society that they turn to spirituality as an "acceptable" way to escape. To escape structure, expectations, rigidity, authoritarianism. I think it should be a balance. I believe that healthy spiritual beliefs do not oppress, but they are grounded, supportive, encourage mental health and help you become your truest self and give a channel to live with inspiration and purpose.
