elecric field intensity is different thing it means no. Of line of forces passes through area.mathematically, E = No. Of lines(flux) ÷ Area
From here, our electric flux becomes electric field intensity(E) × Area(ds)
Since, E and ds are vector product therefore flux = E.ds.cos theta
And a Note:- Area vector is alway perpendicular to area. And what you said that was electric field that is a region around charged object under which a test charge experiences force
Mathetically, E= F/q.🎉
