I love how small the frigate looks when emerging from the Heighliner until it lands and you see how truly massive it is, which in turn recontextualizes how utterly titanic the Heighliners are.

I really love in this movie how humans are casually flying around in ships that look like they belong at the climax of Close Encounters.

The music in dune is so good. In every single scene, the music is so haunting yet beautiful

The narrator + the subtle audio effects during the narration adds an organic factor to movie

If this spaceship is included in size comparisons, it would be in top ten lists

I really hope we see a Guild Navigator in the second part.

Hmm... The movie Dune takes place for over 10000 years in the future. Spaceships looked nice but weird at the same era

Im glad english people are still around that far into the future. Truly the most spice dependent humans in the known universe

The mothership looks like a worm. Coincidence? I think not!

Lynch's 1984 version of Dune may have lacked the technical special effects and great acting it needed, but it captured the 'Essence and Spirit' of Frank Herbert's Dune fsr better than Dennis' version.

One thing that always confuses me during this scene is the part at 0:28 Have they paved over a lake? You can see when it's closer that the floor is concrete tiles, but froma distance it follows the contours of the terrain like it's a frozen lake. It makes no sense to me

Oh it isn't impossible without spice, they just aren't willing to (re)create the technology that allowed humans to do it 10, 000 years before the book is set, albeit with a roughly 1-in-10 failure rate due to misjumps. Then again this eventually does happen later on, allowing the scattering, which never would've been possible had the Guild maintained their monopoly on interstellar travel

Dune looks basic and weak but it is actually one of the most powerful sci-fi verses in fiction. Dune's Imperium has controlled multiple galaxies and almost all of universe. Dune tosses planetary destroying weapons like candies that make Death Stars like toys. They also have energy weapons (lasguns) that can do teratons of damage. The reasons why we don't see these WMDs or even guns on Arrakis because those weapons will disturb the sandworms which will hurt the production of spices.
