Love your videos, love having people with whom to talk about this show. Tonight's episode broke my heart into pieces. Roman's evolution as a character has been impressive to watch, but Roman pushing Kendall while Kendall has seemingly always looked out for Roman was PAINFUL to witness. Glad to see Naomi and Willa get more dialogue and action in tonight's episode as well. Proud of Greg for scoring a date with that cute girl. Sad sad sad for Tom. Roman and Greg are killing it. Tom and Ken are killing themselves.

It was interesting how we see the continuous cycle of how Logan manipulates his kids. Not too long ago Kendall told Shiv “it’s you now” because Logan was using Shiv and now we see Shiv basically telling Roman the same thing. They’re all being played like pawns. Logan knows his kids better than they know themselves.

And my fav party episode was Logan’s 50th anniversary. I think that was when Kendall had his rap scene and that was a great moment. I was actually looking forward to seeing Kendall perform again at his party.

Not quite a family gathering, but I love the corporate retreat, with "Boar on the Floor."

My God, the set designs of this episode! Give everyone who set up those party rooms an Emmy. Along with the actors who had to say nice things in the tunnel of compliments.

I think Kendall cares way more about the opinions of his family than he lets on. Even the obsession with getting public opinion on his side is imo his way of trying to prove to his siblings and Rava and anyone else he cares about “look at what everyone’s saying, I’m right, you guys should take my side”.

He makes it clear to Comfry that even with all these A-listers coming to the party he’s actually most concerned about whether his siblings are coming, and he’s genuinely excited to see them there. Even when he’s showing them all the fake headlines he wrote for them, he clearly seems to think it’s in good fun and they’ll find it funny and offers to take down Conner’s when he gets upset. You can tell when it becomes obvious after the envelope and learning they’re there to see Mattson, he really changes. He’s truly hurt by the fact they clearly have no interest in actually seeing him and in fact hate him just as much as they’d been letting on if not more.

The last scene with them was interesting because it’s one of the first times the siblings have sat around having an actual conversation about morality and their feelings (they kinda did in episode two of this season but Kendall was bullshitting that whole episode). And Roman is so equipped for that because he is smart enough to know the exact thing that’s gonna piss everyone off. He makes fun of Shiv for thinking she could ever do anything of consequence because she’s a woman (her biggest insecurity), makes fun of Kendall for being vulnerable and caring too much (his biggest divergence from the rest of the family) and you can tell Kendall is so hurt by this gradual realization that his siblings both don’t care about him, Rava has officially moved on (I suspect he might still be in love with her?), Naomi just got him a watch and doesn’t seem to know anything about him or care. Which is why a handmade gift from his kids was so important to him.

Something I feel like I haven’t seen anyone talk about is when he’s smashing up all the presents her says “I wish I was…” and pauses and then Naomi says “right, let’s go home”. But I think the implication there was that he just barely caught himself from saying “I wish I was dead” before Naomi diverted him.

This episode really was Ken at emotional rock bottom and I’m excited to see if he comes out of this with a new attitude and starts being real with everybody in a way that nobody ever is on this show

Shiv’s wedding was my very favorite episode. Literally “explosive” and “to die for” if you ask me.

My favorite gathering was the one on the ship in season 2 where they are deciding who to blame for the cruises issue.

I think this was the hardest episode to watch so far. The Roy siblings know how to cut so deep. And that party--talk about a cry for help! The compliment hall, the replica of Ken's childhood treehouse, his scheduled performance of Billy Joel's "Honesty" (read the lyrics). As Shiv said, everyone at that party wanted something from him. He has no friends, he has no family, even his girlfriend gave him a watch, something so generic. You can give your grandpa or coworker a watch! That's why he was so frantic to find the gift the kids made him. They're pretty much the only love he has. I can't believe he opened that card and thought it would be something nice...and yet he still was hopeful about receiving a card from his dad on his birthday.

It's interesting to note how uncaring Roman was when Logan had the urinary tract infection and was acting crazy vs how concerned Ken was when Logan got dehydrated on the walking trail while trying to make a deal with Adrian Brody's character. Man, Madsen asked Roman when Logan was going to die and Roman was like, yeah we're all waiting for that to happen. YIkes! With family like this, who needs enemies? I need a Ken win, I don't care what it is, but the show can't keep up the Ken torture porn.

I liked seeing Roman drunk on his own Kool-aid and ego. For so long everyone counted him out, ignored him or “put him in the kennel”. Ken and Shiv both have their power trips but it’s mostly self fulfilling, Roman on the other hand has been loyal to Logan since day 1 and finally feeling confident that he’s reaping the benefits of his loyalty. He doesn’t need his siblings acceptance at this point.

About Connor's arm: Alan Ruck had to get surgery for a torn rotator cuff, so they just wrote it into the episode.

The episode was fantastic. I think Roman is about to get finessed, Shiv is going to somehow cross them all out of frustration. Tom may still go to prison as part of the "numbers" negotiation. Kendall's girlfriend has an agenda that we may not find out until next season. If Connor becomes president he will turn out to be more difficult to manipulate then they expect...Tom and Greg are still the best of the show 😂

The wedding was the best because of the blackmail. You could just see the power dynamics shift as he walked into Logan’s room.

Such an amazing episode!
Love seeing the family breakdown/dynamics...
*We have the upcoming wedding that I am think could go to hell quickly lol
Tom and Gregs relationship is definitely my favorite and I think Rome may be in over his head.
*I think Naomi's intentions are real... She's a cash cow/from money too. I think the real world reason we haven't seen much of her this season was due to Covid. They had shoot around it and it definitely shows but I think she's genuine.

Wow. Incredibly revealing episode. Fascinating to see how far Roman has pulled ahead of Shiv in Logan's Trust Power Rankings. Even Roman knowing about the spying on Ken's kids when Shiv had no idea was extremely telling. Roman is clearly on a power trip of his own. Would've been interesting to see how much differently he would have acted if Gerri was there. She seems to be the only one he respects outside of Logan.

About Connor, the actor actually injured himself and the writers wrote it into the script, interesting. The party was essentially a giant yet exceptionally extravagant self thrown pity party but I like when the Roy siblings get together cause its like a competition to see who can cut who the deepest while competing for a spot on Daddys lap.

The fact that we get a glimpse of essentially how much each sibling could literally be bought out of the company and juxtapose it with the fact that their Daddy issues just wont let them be great all on their own, and its just insanity. Hell I got plans for 2 Billion, let me get that buyout offer.

On the greg front, Imma need him to just punch Tom in the face one good time and remind him of whos actually a legit part of the Roy family and who's expendable. Tom is becoming a buzzkill, and like greg said, Imma need Tom to prove that his bed skills is what sealed the deal with Shiv, go ahead and drop that sextape one good time, lol.

Up until this episode I was rooting for Ken. Now I just think he was right, it was the party of an a$$hole.
