I have been growing and enjoying Jerusalem artichokes for I don't know how many years and I have found that if I eat one tuber a day no bigger than a golf ball for five days it really cuts down in the flatulence or you can Add a pinch of asafoetida, or hing, to the artichokes as they are sweating will greatly reduce flatulence.

You, me and Willie....a handful of Jerusalem artichokes, some raw cabbage and a jar of pickled eggs. Hop in the car and first one to roll the window down buys the drinks:)))

Ah, thank you Terry, I have been roasting mine, they are quite delicious,
I don't have many left now but I replanted them as you did, straight back in the same soil and the root are also going in the green bin..
Happy gardening my friend and keep up the good work,
You are full of ideas and great information in which I really appreciate...🐮🐮🐮

Dang you have gotten some rain over there! Not a fan of artichokes so never grew them. Yours came out looking awesome. To funny on the wind makers they are. LMBO.. Nothing better than picking and eating right off the vines! Stay safe my friend!

I heard about them spreading. somehow I managed to keep them contained. I grew them several years ago, didn't care for them so when I harvested them I removed all the tubers I could find and managed to get them all. They never came back to my surprise. Good for me. Best wishes Bob.

After watching this earlier today I harvested some of my artichokes. I simply scrubbed them clean, rubbed them with olive oil and scattered salt and pepper over them before roasting them. Oh my goodness they were tasty

What a prolific plant, I've never grown, eaten or cooked a Jerusalem artichoke, I need to get out more lol. Thanks for the video Terry.

Not called fartichokes for nothing! Don't seem to have such an effect on me, but the other half oh dear! We grew them as a summer shade screen for the old chicken run. Love them, I do like them roasted, but we've also had them as mash. HRH used to boil them, made burger shapes and froze them to fry, but they usually collapsed in the pan, so not such a good idea. Not got them here yet, purely for the reason that they spread so much - I like that yours grew so well in the container. Looks like the way to do it. Cheers Terry! 😄

Interesting Terry, ha ha beans, and taytos can give you wind, sure why not add to the mix ha ha. God that polly tunnel was a blessing, this late in the year and you still have plenty to keep ye going. Enjoy the artichokes.

Maybe I should have fed mine. First year they have been tiny! I’ll save a couple for next year! Thanks for that Terry and don’t hold it in too long!

I tried five varieties this year and planted them in the ground.
All tubers produced huge harvests, but I did notice that the White Truffle variety was the easiest to harvest as they were all concentrated at the root. The other varieties spread out more and you had to dig down to follow the wandering roots. It did feel like digging for treasure though.
