This week I finish the controls wiring. Have to purchase software and then get bogged down and frustrated by software bug issues.

Love the video's Fred, your comments included :-) I reached video 10 now and going to watch the others as well. I'm going to build one with a RPI B+ so for me the video's have value even if they are made 2 years a go at the moment. Thank you for putting them out, for people like me, who are also masters in woodworking :-)

Hyperspin can get a little frustrating Fred, but hang in there. It takes some practice but in the end you will have a great looking interface! If i remember well i had a similar issue in the past, but since i am not at the software stage with my current project yet, i am afraid i cannot help you out with this. But i am sure that SimplyAustin can!
Anyway, great video as always and i am looking forward to the next one! Cheers!

Thanks for the shout out Fred. With regards to your issue with MAME.xml, you can generate one by running MAME via the command line: mame.exe -listxml > mame.xml

A shout out from Fred! I'm blessed! If you need any ideas mate just give me a shout! I've got 2 PS3 controllers in the back of mine plugged in via usb constantly. That way I can have 4 players on stuff like TMNT and not worry about the charge of controller running out when people want to use them!

Fred,

Would you recommend the encoders you used? I was looking at ordering them online, and couldn't decide between these and the XIN-Mo encoder. I tried building mine out of an old keyboard, and it does fine on the old 4-way style games, but on TMNT2 or a fighting game like Street Fighter, it is rubbish. Just enjoyed your build, and was looking for the voice of experience to work from. Nice piece of kit, when all said and done, sir!
