This plane was using a 6th hand engine (used by 6 different countries before given to Nepal) and was ironically going to Pokhara for maintainence.

Another tragic story is that a family who booked the seats didn't have any plans to visit Pokhara but since they didn't have any work, they decided to spend some time.

Thirdly, I know all of this because the pilot is my uncle's friend who works in Buddha Airlines or Airways.

Edit: Okay so guys there's a policy in Nepal where if passengers and crew members die, the victim's family are given 1Crore compensation (its even higher for the technicians, pilots and hostesses) however the Manager or the CEO (one of them) has run away from the public face and isn't willing to pay the compensation fee.
FYI: 1Crore = 10M dollars (roughly)

It's usually the survivors who deal with the most grief. Not to downplay any of the loss that happened. This was a tragedy for everyone involved. I hope they are taking great care of them while they get the help they need.

I just feel terrible for the pilot. Carrying the guilt of the death of all your colleagues and passengers is something that not many can just shrug off.

I was talking to a Nepali instructor of mine, and to shorten the story, I bring a different flag with me each day everywhere I go. They asked if I could find something about Nepal and bring Nepal the next day, but I couldn’t find anything. The next day I wake up and find this. I find it ironic, and terribly sad.
