Deadly Nepal plane crash being investigated

Показать описание
An investigation has been launched into a plane crash in Nepal which killed 19 passengers on September 28. Initial reports were that a bird strike caused the crash, but now the Nepalese aviation ministry has said that pilot error may have been the cause. All crew and passengers were killed when the Dornier twin-engine plane crashed two minutes after take-off from Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport. The plane may have been overloaded with passengers and baggage so when it was hit by the bird, it was possible that the pilot did not have the proper speed to turn around and make an emergency landing. Suresh Acharya, from the aviation ministry, said that the pilot may have panicked and made a steep narrow turn instead of a wider radius turn to get back to the runway. Officials hope to have an official crash report within three months.
