I think a finite universe is more scarry

My tiny human brain cannot compute infinity so sheer terror is the only option I got.

I think it's more comforting to think that it's always been there.

I can safely say neither of those terrify me as much as humans possessing nukes

We just don't and may never be able to comprehend infinity.

Logically speaking, it's impossible for the universe to "have always been there." Because that would mean that there are an infinite number of moments/time before now. Which would mean we would never reach "now, " because of the "infinite" obstacle course that needs to be hurdled before the present.

People have a hard time wrapping their heads around something as enormous as eternity and infinite space

I think it is much more terrifying to believe that the universe created itself from nothingness at once and just happened to be. It is far more reasonable to think it always was.

The universe would have already had to have existed if it was going to be anything at all … hot, cold, dense, etc. it can’t be any of those things if it doesn’t exist already

In Hinduism, universe is cyclic rather than linear hence we always knew it is never ending... Modern science and Hinduism are actually parallel to each other... Hence Hinduism is called Sanatana Dharma, meaning eternal truth...

There is a designer who did all this. Even if it's finite or infinite, there is definitely a creator

He's actually describing a theory called the Steady State Model of the universe. It fell out of popularity among cosmologists in the 60s but was an interesting alternative to what we believe today.

We are nothing more than disturbances on quantum fields, and time is a property of the disturbance not of the field. The field doesn’t have to have time, and thus no beginning and no end.

How do you define a "year" prior to our solar system's existence?

It’s like I have an itch in my brain trying to imagine that the universe has always existed

Neither scares me it is simply out of human comprehension with the current understanding of existence and technological development

I like the cycle theory where the universe expands until it collapses then expands again

technically, when the universe was formed at the infinitely hot and dense point, it was infinitely old in a flash
