35-story apartment tower in Florida evacuated due to burst water main

Residents of a downtown Tampa apartment building high-rise, Element, were awakened when a major water main break occurred overnight. All were forced to evacuate.

According to Tampa Fire Rescue, they found significant flooding issues on the 12th and 27th floors, which appear to be sources of the leak. The 27th floor and those below were affected by the flooding. After a further investigation, fire officials said they found a breach in the main municipal water supply line.

Tampa Fire Rescue reported one firefighter had a minor injury and residents were safely evacuated. They will be allowed in small groups to get their belongings. Apartment management is looking for hotels for the residents.

Just PLEASE TAKE YOUR PETS when they say leave😟 That hurt my heart the other animals where murdered in Surfside💔 No way I'd want to live in any of those buildings now. They paid with their life for that ocean view that was sold to so many people😭💔 I hope they are all given a chance & HELP to move if they want to. I personally would be so damn anxious I'd never be able to relax & Forget about sleeping🥺 I pray for all those effected & Extra prayers for those that had to hear their families & friends last screams for help💔💔
