You're just about the most helpful painter online. Not sure why I avoided pastels for so long (maybe because of the dust, ha ha). Thanks!

I loved this video, thank you so much.
Do you have a tutorial where you teach us how to use the colorwheel bij making a painting?
I would love to see you work with it thinking out loud 🙂

Alain..second viewing of one of your videos in 2 days and was inspired to dust some pastel on my large newsprint pad again.  A shame, it turned out so well but will be short lived though each time I use the vibrant colors of pastels I learn more for my oil painting.  Your advice was also hammered into my head by a marvelous artist that I have studied with for several years.  The thumbnails, color sketches and choice of a color scheme is great advice.  BTW..I am sure you are a successful artist but you have another great asset...a voice "made for radio" as an old saying goes.  Without giving up what surely is your first love perhaps you should also explore a commercial use of a great baritone voice.  I have an old actor friend who when TV and movies were no longer plentiful he turned to commercials with his voice and does quite well on that alone.  Won't mention his name because he is well known and was in a long running TV series and many movies (several with John Wayne) but better known now for the distinctive voice.  Really enjoy your great teaching.

Thank you for this video. You might not believe this, but I actually just discovered you after looking through some of my old Artist magazines that I saved for inspiration after our kids got older and I'd have more time for art! It was the September 2003 issue, and your work back then was just as captivating!
