In this tutorial, I'll show you how to easily change the blades on a Gravely riding mower. This specific mower is a ZT HD-44, but it should be the same on other Gravely zero turn mowers.

I’m trying to do this and the pulley wheel at the top of the deck is spinning with the bolt.

What on earth are you mowing? I sharpen mine between 15 and 25 hours depending on the cut quality. I have 3 sets so I can just swap them out as needed.

Which way did you turn the nut to remove blade. This video tells me nothing

Duh, what about the blade placement? I hope you didnt'wear out bearings running those out of balance blades

I have the black Makita lxt mini impact, for whatever reason, using an impact you dont have to block the blades, they don't spin. Very strange, maybe its on a hammer setting as well so its not constant pressure?
