Are Bad Thoughts Sin?

Many people are concerned that any small negative or bad thought that comes to mind is a sin. But what does the Bible say about sin and sinful thoughts?

I heard a pastor say, "You're not responsible for every thought that pops in your head, but you are responsible for how you act on it." We can't always control our thoughts but we can definitley control our actions.

I've had an anxiety disorder since February. I've had seriously ocd-ish thought-life since then that I've just hated. It's like at times I can't escape my thoughts, but... I've started to more and more call out to Jesus and He has always helped me! Thank God for that!
Nowadays it is like a Rollercoaster. At times I feel fantastic and would wanna praise God alot! And then, especially during lonely times and when I've just woken up it seems like my mind and emotions are just stuck and in agony.
But anyways, God uses our thought-life to teach us many things too, for example bring us closer to Him to rely on Him more that He may be glorified.

Man this was so freeing to hear. I struggle MASSIVELY from heavy OCD intrusive thought attacks. Awful blasphemous thoughts that I would rather die than act on. That being said, sometimes my sinful nature grabs hold of them briefly before I even realize what’s going on. It’s terrifying, but when I catch it I cast the thoughts out in the name of Jesus

Charles spurgeon had the same issue... The question is, do you grieve about the thought? Does it bother you? That is a good indication of a born again Christian.

Thank you, Sean. I used to go to a therapist and I asked her this very question. Her answer?
"We are different because of our willingness to carry out those thoughts."

Least to say, God gave me a far better answer in His son the risen Lord, Jesus Christ.

I struggle with bad thoughts as well but I know In my heart that's not me at all I pray about It I feel It's In my mind & It's hard not to have anxiety

Yes I've done this. Just a word can evoke an evil thought and makes us feel sinful. Thanks for this video because though I don't act on any thought like that, it still makes me feel bad and I have to pray about it and ask for forgiveness..

I have been dealing with this here recently every time I go to pray or read my Bible blasphemous thoughts coming to my mind and even thoughts and feelings that I should serve the devil and not God that my real calling is to serve darkness I instantly rebuke this and I love the Lord with all my heart I have felt so guilty recently that I told the Lord I wouldn't even speak to him instead I would sit quietly before him because the thoughts are so intense that I feel like I disrespect the Lord I'd rather sit and meditate on him and try to pray Lord deliver me from this I believe it is demonic spirits tormenting my mind and trying to stop my intimacy with God
