The filming location for the record shop scene was the basement of the Chelsea Drugstore on London's Kings Road which was designed by architect Antony Cloughley and designer Colin Golding.

Inspired by Le Drugstore on Boulevard St Germain in Paris, Chelsea Drugstore opened in 1968 and included bars, a chemist, newsstands, record stores and food outlets, and was open up to 16 hours a day.

The store closed down in 1985 and has since become a McDonald's.

A Clockwork Orange was released in cinemas worldwide in 1971 by Warner Bros. Pictures and is available to buy on DVD, Blu-ray, 4K & digital download.

I tried this pick up line once. Since I've been in prison I have had time to reflect on it a little.

The 70s were a strange and wonderful time for all the pop culture craziness.

My absolute favourite movie.
It's actually a black comedy.
Soundtrack, cinematography, dialogue, acting, etc all on a different level. Every scene is like a piece of art.

One of my all time favorite movies. Visited the cinema 10 times in a row when A Clockwork Orange was showing :)

I need to rewatch this great film, one of my favourites. I even wrote a bonkers neo-Freudian essay on it as an undergraduate...

As is so often the case, this "dystopian" future was so much better than the one we got.

I like the whole scenery of this movie. If I dream of the 70s looks, that's what comes to my mind.

If only music was still consumed like this today. Unfortunately technology has destroyed the socialising aspect of it all. It is frightful!

I love how much reflection and lighting flare Kubrick used in this.

I sometimes wonder how much of Kubrick's visual style was influenced by the invention of the steadicam, but this scene predated the time Garrett Brown had even started working on it (and Kubrick had done similar effects before ACO). This scene always stands out for me, as particularly disturbing because it's so strange, exuberant, even joyous despite Alex being so obviously up to no conventional good. You're watching that character, trying to track him but it's so captivating that you're not immediately aware of the effects of that color, sounds, lights and movements on yourself.

Heaven 17 named after the fictitious group featured in the charts in this scene.

Truly one of my favorite movies from him, and a good message to the movie, because what goes around will surely come back around

There are certain films, very specific films....films that can be a guide, a look into your past, the need for change... always learning though, and never forgetting...This classic, is one of those....
