So what. The Romans ruled Britain for around 2 hundred years. They brought slaves from around the world in large numbers. The Frisians, Danes and Norse traded as far away as Constantinople and brought slaves and items from the silk road to trade with Saxons and Cornish peoples. This is nothing new.
