TPS AB Comparisons are short videos that compare two pedals side by side. We play two guitars through two amps to give you an idea of how the pedals sound in a couple of different scenarios. That’s it – nothing complicated and minimal talking!

We all love a "rounded bottom end." I bought the Tumnus based on your earlier comparison and I'm very happy with it. You two guys are costing me a lot of money!

When I first plugged in the Tumnus at home it sounded okay. When I used it on stage, that’s when I “got it”. Now I never turn it off. It makes everything sound better and more alive. It cuts through the densest mix without sounding hyped. It’s the drive for people who hate drive pedals and love their amp tone but need a little more hair on the note. Internally it runs at 18 volts and the drive knob is actually a mix knob. That’s what I call “transparent”. The buffer alone is worth the price of admission. I would not want this pedal in true bypass. Love it.

i own the ryra. cannot recommend it enough. they talk a lot about the ryra accentuating the upper mids. the treble knob on the ryra simply adds top. so if you like the amount of top you have, keep it off. i keep it early in my chain due to it having the buffer. it’s always on. treble no higher than 9 oclock. gain no higher than 11. volume at 1-2 oclock. its always on and makes my amp sound 3D and full. i play it into a 1997 matchless chieftain 2x12. it’s killer.

Great stuff! Bought the Tumnus last week and cant believe the improved difference it makes to my Bassbreaker 15!

Excellent sonic evaluation. Boils down to subjective listening preference. Both fine pedals. I own the RYRA.

How about a modern Tone Bender MKII shootout? PigDog, DAM, etc. Maybe OC81 vs OC75...

Brian puts out a lot of great pedal.  You could easily make up a board with just his stuff and be very happy.  But, the Tumnus is absolutely one of his best.  Relative to the boutique sound, price is good and distribution is world class-- so everyone can have one.  Quite a contrast to KOT.

RYRA sounds closer to a Centaur to my ear. Plus the feel is spot on. Wampler is great but sonically adds a different, but very nice, signature. Both great!

I have both and I can’t bring myself to sell either lol. I don’t need 2 but I use the Tumnus more, I may have to eventually sell the RYRA. Mainly because of the space on the pedal board

Maybe its because of my spearkers, but I wanna ask if there is a problem with Dan's tele? It sounds a little bit unexpected in that video (even when the pedals are off)

Awesome video, guys! I got a Tumnus about 6 months ago and originally used it to boost a Charlie Brown. I forgot to turn it off while tracking a clean part and, after listening to the playback,  now just leave it on all the time! I know you've probably done the muff shootouts to death, but I don't believe I've seen an Earthquaker Devices Hoof on a board yet. Got one on vacation last week and would be curious to see how it stacks up against the Thorpy.

I like the tumnus here, for the low end, especially on Dan's tele. I had a tumnus but got rid of it for a lovepedal amp 11 (thanks, TPS), since I already had a tubescreamer style pedal for the mid-push thing when I want it.

I just ordered the tumnus today. Yay. Now I just have to wait another 9 to 10 months for my turn to come around for the King of Tone pedal. :(

Two great pedals there. The Ryra is better, but there is not that much in it between them.

Funny, I preferred the Tumnus with the Tele and the RYRA with the DGT. Maybe due to the inherent "bigger" bottom end in the Tumnus? As always, great demo.

Zendrive [any flavor] vs any of the "Dumble" pedals used in your Dumble-pedal vid.

Can you guys do a show on using a two amp set up. One for clean with reverb. And one for dirty stuff and how to combine etc...?

Any thoughts on the G2D Cream Tone for a warm boost and edge of break up drive?
Love the show and these A/Bs guys. Got my shirt too.
