Got different model of 5-bay Yottamaster from Amazon few days ago, HDD-s arrived today, Setup was easy thanks to this video - worked same way, Set dip-switch to RAID5, use the pin and power button and then wait... Unit shuts down when ready. Power up again and one big HDD seen over USB. Actually hooked this puppy up with my Xbox One Series X :)

When you use raid level 10 on the 4 bay model, you see 2drives in the OS? 2x2 raid 1 mirrored harddisks?

I currently only have one 18TB hard drive but I definitely want to get 3 more 18TB in the future and build a RAID array with Yottamaster 4Bay RAID enclosure. individually and add to enclosure individually but only create a RAID 5 when I have all 4 HD's. Can I create the RAID5 without losing my data?

Thanks for this video, quite simple to setup. I have a question though, since I will use it on a headless Linux. When I have it setup as raid 5 in an event for driver failure (HDD dies) how does the enclosure behaves? How can I know that the disk failed? Could you point me to where I can download the manual for the 5 bay raid enclosure?

Hi. I pruchased the silver Yottamaster enclosure and returned it because it didn't turn off automatically when turning off my Mac. It would keep all drives spinning all the time. I wanted to ask if this model goes into sleep mode when computer is turned off ?

I have three 2TB Samsung EVO 870 ssd drives in RAID 0 configuration. I am getting only 200Mb/s with the usb-c on a iMac 2019. My other enclosure gives me speeds up to 1000 Mb/s. Is 200 Mb/s the maximum I can achieve with your enclosure? If not, what can I do to troubleshoot the problem? Thanks

I've tried downloading the RAID Manager software for my Mac. It will not install. I've also tried to download the Firmware update as well. Same thing. They won't install on my Mac.

Twice in a row now their 5 bay enclosure set to hardware RAID has completely failed on me. Just a moment ago I was copying some files off of the enclosure, everything all good. I finished up, and then Windows reports that the drive needs to be formatted. All gone. All of my personal data, everything wiped out. No explanation at all. Windows Disk Management reports the drives as empty and RAW. Thanks Yottamaster.
