2:49 Part 2: How to Set Up a RAID 1?
5:09 Part 3: Using Recoverit to Retrieve Files from RAID 1

RAID 1 is a data storage technique that involves creating identical copies of data on multiple hard drives. This provides redundancy and improves data availability, making it a popular choice for individuals and businesses alike. By using RAID 1, you can ensure that your data is safe even if one of the hard drives fails.
In this video, we will provide a step-by-step guide on how to set up RAID 1 on your computer. We'll explain the hardware requirements, including the number of hard drives needed and their specifications. We'll also walk you through the process of configuring RAID 1 using either software or firmware, depending on your system's capabilities.
By the end of this video, you will have a clear understanding of the benefits of RAID 1 and the steps required to set it up on your own computer. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced user, this video will provide you with valuable insights and practical tips for improving your data storage practices.

Don't miss out on this opportunity to learn about RAID 1 and how it can benefit your data storage needs. Watch this video now and start taking advantage of this powerful data storage technique!

6:12 Can I set up multiple raid 1's? I have four ten terabytes 2 are internal and two external. On the same computer. I already filled up one 10 terabyte, and i'd like to set it to be mirror image to my external. If I go in and make changes on any of My Files. Will it also update the changes on the mirrored drive? Plus now I'm starting to fill up my new 10 TB. And I also want to make sure that is mirror imaged by the external drive.. Also, my 10 TB drive is full when I set it to be mirrored to the external drive. It's OK to have the full drive. It's not going to erase my data is it?. Only the receiving drive needs to be formatted correct... Why don't want to lose 10 TB of data? Trying to set it to raid one.. Are you supposed to start with 2 completely blank drives in order to set raid or can I have my 10? Terabyte drive full?

So if you have three 2TB disks on raid 1, you will only have 2TB of space to store stuff before everything is duplicated? Even tho you have 6 TB total in capacity? I want to use it for NAS

Can I set up RAID 1 with 2 USB drives? It's for backup purposes, but my PC has limited USB space, so they wouldn't be plugged in all the time. Is it possible to have hot pluggable RAID 1 or would I have to set it up each time?

Hi, I did a Windows 10 update, and my profile along with all my files went to a Windows.old folder. I didn't save it to another storage location and after a while my profile disappeared from the Windows.old folder and my unused HDD space increased. How do I recover my profile and all my files?

3:41 The raid is only for additional drives, ie Drive #2 & Drive #3, not your Main OS C: drive (Drive 1) . How can I Raid 1 on a fresh Windows install with 2 drives? My current system has storage spaces on 2 other drives but I don't know how to Raid 1 my original C: Drive.

I need some help.

I can't access or boot from HDD (original boot device with files) in file explorer after installing windows 10 to an ssd. I'm worried that data might be erased.

My HDD shows up in partition but not file explorer. It was the original boot up drive for my desktop PC. I remember the data showing up before that but not saying unallocated. It shows all its data as unallocated space after I initialized it.

I tried installing windows to an an SSD I had which worked but now I can't boot from the HDD for some reason. I remember trying to get it to work by tinkering with the raid settings in the bios. I think I converted it to non-raid by choosing some acceleration option because that's what it says now. It said something like not discoverable before. I remember initializing the drive in question but not creating a partition for it.

I'm trying to get the HDD back to normal again with all my data.

What is the difference between this and the mirror option in computer management?

Is it possible to set up RAID5 through Windows in a similar way, or are you required to invest in a hardware solution like Synology setups?

I'm not sure the 2 drives need to be exactly the same model and size. You should be able to use 2 drives from different manufacturers and even different sizes as long as the backup drive holds at least as much storage as the source drive.

I finally managed to create RAID in windows 11 (I don't know really what was causing the error: I cloned old ssd to a new one and removed the old one from slot nr2 and after that the error did not come again). But what I experience now is even better: I am copying a bunch of photos from ssd to my RAID 1 (based on two brand new 20TB modern drives) and the speed is measured in kB/s... Now it speeded up to 5 MB/s. any idea what is wrong?

I think I'd rather have an incremental cloning system so that I can just swap out drives or clone over to a new drive. Seems a lot of messing about only to just be able to recover files and not the operating system wouldn't you agree?

bullshit. it is not the easiest. it doesn't support all drives. I don't know how many are not supported. For sure Toshiba MG10 20TB aren't. Apparently it is possible to create some batch procedures in windows to copy any new/modified file from drive A to drive B. I will see how this works, if it's reliable. May be easier to recover in case of failure - edited: OK. looks like windows error. I changed the slot of system ssd, and it fixed the issue.
