This is an outstanding video! It shows how to build a workbench when there is almost nothing pre-existing to help with assembly. Much more applicable to a beginner. It is an important contribution. Thanks!

Thank you! Good ideas for my own bench mounted Bosch project.

Thanks for sharing this how to video. I'm 50 yrs old and just started buying and using power tools. I've been looking at the dewalt table saw with rolling stand, but I'm going to take a chance and try to build this one you built... Thanks again

It will be so much easier to build your next bench, when you already have one. I'm still using my first bench.
I'm sure at some point I will build a new better bench. Your shop is really starting to come together.
Nice video too!

I like how you built this. This assumes that the workbench is in the middle of the room so you reach across from any side being 48 inches deep. For me, mine will be against a wall (but with folding wheels) so I'll limit the depth to probably 36 inches. The table saw also dictates the width.

Great design - I added castors. I made it in France - they don't do 4 by 2 timber here, 72 by 45! I used two sheets of 15mm ply for top - did the cut-outs in place on the bottom sheet, then put on the top sheet after I routed some depth for the fence assembly.

At 4:30 When you're installing the lower shelves, I think it would have been beneficial to install the frame on the inside of the posts and raising the height a couple inches, so you can at least get your feet with boots in there. I made mine with the front portion where I work the most a good 8 inches shorter (back to front), so that I dont murder my shins every time I reach for a tool and my bench is 3 ft wide, not 4 ft like yours.

Nice build. I did the same about 2 years ago with a DW744 and the area around the table saw is almost identical. I used 2x8 SYP boards for the top. I also have a lift up section in the middle with a DeWalt miter saw

Second time viewing. Did not notice before that you cut that 4x8 sheet of plywood in half without a track guide. Impressive. If I did it that cut would have lots of curves. Still deciding on this project but really impressed with your video. Well done.

Picking up the skil table saw with the same style of fence. I will be referencing this video again when I get to building a table for it.

John,
This is not a good bench. It is a GREAT bench for a number of reasons. To begin with, I could hear every word. I have seen more work bench builds than I can count. I’m a beginner and you took your time. I learned

learned a lot of general construction methods. I have a similar DeWalt table saw. Mine is the 8&1/4 (Or is it 1/2?). Seems to be a popular model.
I’m sure every woodworker will make a modification but I will stay close to your design.
Thank you very much!

So awesome and actually doable with this video as support

Really like the workbench, but damn, that was one convoluted construction process. I've got to do much the same with my Ridgid table saw.

Do you have a room there to reach clamp to secure fence? I love how you pretty much went with no plans at all just kept breaking it down to fit saw but hey on the end of day you got it right.

Just purchased the wood to do this project. Not bad, about $130. I did get ACX plywood for the top. Wanted it as smooth s possible. I am also going to take Rolf Bjorns recommendations about raising the shelf and putting the lower frame on the inside of the posts. Should give me plenty of foot room. Thank you for the great video.

Awesome video. Can you do a guide on how to persuade your wife into allowing you to use all the garage space? Thanks mate.
