I visited my grandma in Moldova for 10 days and here is everything I ate in a week 🥰

[about me]
Hi my name is Rosie, I'm 26 and my life is a bit confusing so i'm writing this lol.
To make it easy:
- I was born in Northern Italy, in the region of Veneto
- My whole family still lives there (mom, dad and my little sister Marty)
- I moved to Toronto, Canada, at 19 all alone to ✨find myself✨ (spoiler: it didn't work, i got more lost if anything).
So, I live half my life in Italy and half my life in Canada.
Also, my mom is from Moldova (country in Eastern Europe) and my dad is from Calabria (region in Southern Italy) and both my grandmas still live there. So you’ll occasionally see me going there as well.
I hope this clears things up a bit.. or maybe makes them more confusing lol.
I don’t know, i tried 😄

thank you so much for all the beautiful comments 🥰 to clear up some confusion/questions:
- this is not Italy, it's Moldova: a country in Eastern Europe bordering with Ukraine and Romania
- my mom is from there and she moved to Italy at 19, so what you see in this video is my mom's side of the family
- I'm half Italian (dad's side) and half Moldovan (mom's side)
- Italian is my first language, Romanian is my second and English is my third - I don't speak/know Russian
💗💗

idk if u will see this but please never change the style of these vlogs! it’s nice to see someone who doesn’t try to glamourise things, or make the food look extra fancy or show an unrealistic pretty life style. bc ur videos r so authentic it makes it far better than these types of videos! I love seeing life in the village, real meals cooked by your nonnas, how inspiring they are and the overall simple living. pls never change the format! 🥺

I'm Ukrainian and I cannot watch this video without crying! So many similarities, the warmth, the simplicity, small chickens, homemade food...
I miss being able to visit my country. THESE are the real values in life: peace and family. Nothing else really matters

We Germans so often think that we are developed and modern but honestly - my soul longs for family and good food from the garden, work in the fresh air and the feeling of togetherness.
Life is so much more than sitting crammed together in a big city and surfing the internet while buying food from the supermarket.
Your videos are beautiful! Thanks!

Love how all the mediterranean grandsons and grandaughters who are watcching this must have been identified with you. I'm from Spain and the way of living of my grandma is quite similar, it is: kind people who love the family and feed them with the best they have in their humble homes, wake up early and work hard even at advanced ages. They have a tremendous knowledge about nature and natural processes, so we should be more observers and learn from them and aboveall, tell how we love them! Us estimo avi i iaia!

We need more of this on YouTube, not LA people “living the life” but this, where is show that family is more important than fame. Don’t get me wrong I love la videos on yt but I like this as well

It is fascinating to see just how all Eastern European/Slavic countries have similarities, I am from Bosnia, but like this village life is the same in Bosnia, the food almost identical in certain dishes i.e kompat, sarmale (we call them kompot and sarme), how people dress, the decor, the drawings in the school. It is very homey to watch these kinds of videos and I regret that I was not able to record my own childhood since it would be nice to have those memories, but it is really fun to watch these kinds of videos bc I can fully relate to them. Great job!

The amount of fresh food, mixed with fermented items, natural sugars…. This is phenomenal. The women in your family are so captivating to watch!

Oh my God, I'm from eastern Croatia and I can't believe how much similarities we have. Those cookies my grandmother made to us when she was alive❤️

Rice, milk and sugar is one of my favourite combos for light dinners and early breakfast, I live in South Asia and it’s a very popular meal here, crazy how food connects completely different continents

Sour cream with everything. I genuinely started crying when you had the cabbage rolls. I'm a Slovak American and this just gave me all the feels. Like you, I grew up speaking multiple languages. This video made me miss my grandma (Baba) and my grandpa (Didi). Thanks for sharing your beautiful family with us.

met a girl who became my best friend in middle school, she was Moldovian and was always talking to me how proud she was to be (I'm Native American and was proud to be so we were like two peas in a pod) she would bring me her traditional food and I would do the same. She taught me how to say her name in her language and even some words, I did the same. Her mother was super nice and always brought me treats and loved picking us up from our basketball practices / games. She was my best friend, still miss her as I switched schools and lost touch but I'm thinking of finding her on social media to reconnect and see how she is doing.

The amount of cooking and baking your grandma does and everything from scratch! She works hard! You can tell she loves her family greatly💗💗💗
