Yes, The Mini offers a great deal more use a mid-grade 43" 4K TV as a monitor with my current base M1 Mini. With patient tweaking I managed excellent display quality and of course, have a larger monitor that helps avoid eye strain and "sitting" discomforts. I am awaiting my M4 (arrives tomorrow Nov 8) and will likely "upgrade" my TV as well... to a 55" with with fully dimming arrays, Dolby HDR etc. My ol' Mini and TV will be passed down to my niece who will still get years of life of of them...Bravo, Apple !

I occasionally do video editing in 4k (usually at 1080p) and tend to open more apps and tabs on Google Chrome in daily use. I am considering to get a Mac Mini but not sure which is a better option for my use case. Would you recommend

1) Apple M4 Pro chip with 12‑core CPU, 16‑core GPU, 16‑core Neural Engine 24GB unified memory 512GB SSD storage - (SGD1849 educational price)

2) Apple M4 chip with 10‑core CPU, 10‑core GPU, 16‑core Neural Engine 32GB unified memory 512GB SSD storage (I upgrade from 24GB to 32GB) - (SGD1569 educational price)

Option 2 cost less even thought have more RAM.

Wonder if you can share your thought on which option is more suitable for my needs. Is Option 2 (10-core GPU able to handle 4k, 32 GB RAM) able to handle 4k video editing?

4:10 That chart is handy for me as I'm upgrading from a 16GB/512GB M1 Mac mini to a 24GB/1TB M4 Mac mini sometime next week. I've also chosen the 10 Gigabit Ethernet option.
I have my suspicions about the simultaneous release of Apple Intelligence and the decision to make 16GB of unified memory the base level. I'm inclined to suspect that AI will need more base memory as it progresses and becomes more capable, hence my choice of 24GB instead of the 16 minimum.
I already have an Apple Studio display so once it's connected to my M4, I'll have 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports free and five USB-C ports, meaning my 4k webcam and USB boom-mounted microphone won't eat in greatly to my IO.

I've had Apple Mac mini's in the past, however, moving forward, see myself only purchasing Apple MacBooks. When I replaced my late 2014 Apple 5K iMac, it was a flip of a coin if it was going to be with a Mac mini or a MacBook Air.

Even with the cost being more for the MacBook Air, it gave me two things. First was a second monitor. Second was the ability to take it with me to places like Starbucks and use it out in the wild..

The Mac Mini M4 is a wonder of technological engineering. If videogaming isn't my main hobby, I'd switch to it for my main computer.
