Short answer: Yes! I've had the base mini for over a month now (I pulled the trigger as soon as it released). I supplement the storage with a 2TB external NVME drive, and for my use case it has been perfect.

Good news: The internal storage can be upgraded after purchase. There are various YouTube videos showing how. The M4 and M4 Pro use differed SSD modules but are both upgradable.

Finally a video for the average user. I have been putting off buying the base model because I wasn’t sure if it was worth it for someone who’d only use it for basic tasks and college work. Glad to have watched this video

For $599, this is a steal.

If anyone has any 2nd thought on buying, don't. Trust me man, I am windows user for last 15 years and after buying mac, I haven't touch my windows laptop yet.

Yes! I’m the proud owner of a base mini with the M4 chip replacing a way older mid-2011 i5 Sandy Bridge mini which I recycled some months back.

I bought 2 on Saturday! I have them fitted with 2 external SSDs, 2TB for file storage and a 500MB for Time Machine. I upgraded from 2018 Mac Mini and 2 Mac airs

This is very useful. I’ve been using a Chromebook for 6 years to WFH (I’m freelance). It’s getting old and ergonomically is not great. I’ve limited space so it sounds as if the Mac mini plus a monitor and keyboard would be a sensible replacement. Thanks so much for your timely review/advice!

Bought mine 3 weeks ago. Using it to run my Adobe Suite from an external SSD. I have already completed 5 videos using Premier Rush and a lot of Photoshop work since then.

I think it depends on what you do and what you want to do. I recently bought a mini pc for about 1/3 the price of the mac mini and immediately installed linux mint on it. For what I do i can run my office software, email, calendar, youtube, and my mega online storage. I also installed steam and i play some of my more simple games. It's snappy and works great for what I do but I agree the mac mini is probably the best option for mac users

5 years ago if you had a base M4 Mac Mini as the main editing suite in a fully professional shop, the creative types would have lost their minds....and just for giggles make the purchase price $1000...in 2019 dollars....so the Bean Counters could lose theirs as well. I think Apple is at the start of a campaign to greatly expand Mac OS marketshare....at 10-12% worldwide, even if they only double that in 5 years, that's ungodly billions in revenue....with Apple on their way to a 5-7 trillion dollar market cap in that 5 year span.

Yes the base Mac Mini is ideal for the average user and who realy cares where the power button is. BTW when I set mine up I did not need any wired keyboard or mouse the Mini went into searching for bluetooth items and easily found my Logi MX Master keyboard and mouse.

Thanks for the review! Honestly thinking about trading in my Intel MacBook Pro and grabbing one of these for home use in 2025. I have a 13” iPad Air that’s basically replaced my use case for the MacBook Pro, so I think having one of these in my home office as my “base” would be perfect for daily use!

I bought the base model 16 / 256 M4 for 586$ using student discount, the reason why I didn’t bought 16/512 is I have to pay extra 200$ for just 256 GB extra storage, Bro I can buy 2TB external Storage SSD for 100 $ 😂 Please don’t waste your money for that extra storage that apple gives ❤
