3W at 13 deg, strong 4W at 17 deg, 4 hybrid at 22 deg. Seems to work pretty well for me as the distances are quite evenly spaced. Great video!

Another good video Peter.
I would also say to people that not only is picking your clubs via loft (as a starting point) essential - that people should be aware that that loft gaps may not be even to get the best gapping.
When you are switiching between different brands and different clubs (ie driver/wood/hybrid/iron) the shaft length and club design will cause things to go different distances.  I have found that I have some clubs in the top end of my bag very similar or identical lofts - but it produces even gapping. eg 7-wood at 22* / hybrid 20* / iron 20* all produce differnt flights and carry.
It is ESSENTIAL that anyone wanting to shoot the lowest scores possible gets onto a launch monitor and gets fitted properly. Dont be afraid to have similar lofts in your bag - it's all about consistant gapping from lob wedge to driver!

I don't use a 3-wood. There's a large gap in distance between my driver (250 total) and my 5-wood (220 total), but it doesn't really matter because it's enough to make virtually all par 4s in 2 and par 3s in 1. On the flip side, my distance is not quite far enough to reach par 5s in 2. But it doesn't matter to me because even if I used a 3-wood, chances are I still wouldn't make it since a 3-wood set up for my gapping would likely go 235 total and par 5s tend to be 500+ yards. But even at, say.... a large 600 yard par 5, I'd still have about 130 to the hole using a Driver then a 5-wood. So no matter what bag setup I'd have, assuming I don't duff a shot or something, I'll be on or around a par 5 green in 3. Making a 3-wood the odd club out for me. So I decided against using one in favor of another wedge as I find approaches to be more comfortable when my wedge gapping is tighter. But that is just my strategy. If I were to gain distance (improved technique, working out or both) I "may" change that because more opportunities would be there for me, but for now I'm pretty happy with it because the math is all set up fine for practical playing.

I have an 11 degree driver and an 18.5 degree 5 Wood. Works well for me as the 5 wood is much easier to hit off the fairway than a 3 wood and more accurate off the tee.

I carry an 18deg 5 wood and a 19deg hybrid. The 5 wood is 20+yds further because of shaft length. Distances are the key.

I’ve been working on my top end of my bag I use a 9.5 driver not super long hitter but I move to my 5w next because I can hit it both of the tee and the turf. Not really great at hitting my 16.5 3/4w off the turf so I’ve taken it out of my bag for now. After my 5w I have a 7, 9, and 11w. My 11w is at 31* so is my next club 6 iron but 17 yard difference but my bag setup is pretty good and I use clubs that I hit with confidence even though my spacing might be off a little

watching this in 2019 and its hilarious to hear the difference in peters voice from 5 years ago at the start lol he sounds much more nasal and high pitch. Not sure if thats his voice or his mic setup

Just added a M6 19 degree 3-hybrid to my bag to.plug the 5-wood---4-iron gap. Goes 190y for me and works a treat, but now wondering whether I should switch the 18 degree 5-wood for a 3-wood...

I think that the 5 wood and Hybrid allow you to really control trajectory in both high and low launch shots if you can control your path etc.

I've recently added a 58' wedge & pulled my 24' hybrid.

Top of the bag now goes:
10.5' driver
15' 3wood
19' 5wood
21' hybrid.
26 5i

Think my set up makes sense?

3-wood at 14.5 and 22 degree hybrid works brilliantly for me

On newer clubs, I noticed the lofts on fwy woods/irons bing strenghthened & the faces much hotter, so i use a club selection of woods/hybrids/irons based on distance, accuracy, workability & recovery ability with something in the bag good 4 each!i felt this works the best, bc lofts on modern clubs r very differn't today & flight trajectory is also very different from mfg 2 mfg, even different sets by same company!

I have a 9 degree driver (280+) then a 15 degree 3-wood (250-260) and then a 7 degree gap to my hybrid (220) so I just hit a cut with the 3-wood to fill that gap distance at 230-235 yards.

Just traded in a Cleveland Launcher 3 wood for a Ping G-410 5 wood. Just wasn’t hitting the 3 wood very well off the deck and was not using it off the tee since I hit my driver fairly well.

Hey Peter, Great Video was wondering if you could do the same about wedges maybe? Like Should you really have 4 or is 3 or even 2 sufficient. Regards

Think that pretty much summarised my buying choices - i owned 4-9 cavity back irons which i improved around the green with 48 56 and 60 tour wedges - at the other end I added Nike Covert 11.5deg driver, 15deg 3 wood and 20deg 3 Hybrid - mostly i just use the driver and the hybrid if I am carrying - I do feel I could probably dispense with the 3 wood as the hybrid is so amazing and I always find myself reaching for it to the exclusion of the wood even when it is in the bag :-)

I know older video but I'm a newer subscriber to your channel but know you from being subscribed to Rick's channel. Im currently rebuilding my bag and at a fork with woods. Do I need both a 3 and 5 or go 3 and then hybrid. I need to hit my new driver then hit my 4 iron and see what distances I need to fill.
