As an autistic person I appreciate that you always label your tone. It is really helpful

Healthcare was one of the main reasons I never wanted to leave the US, until i found your channel. Universal Healthcare is so demonized here when it's often times better. Now my partner and I are actively talking about immigrating somewhere else.

My ex-wife feels the same here in Canada and she didn't consider leaving when we split. The healthcare, crime rate, and education were the main considerations for her.

Apologies but it still bewilders me as to why so many Americans think the USA is so awesome and the rest of the world is suffering and trying to get into the US

You're super welcome here in Germany! Folks like you are a real asset.

If that is what you want, you should get German citizenship as soon as possible. Immigration law changes and the rights of a foreign spouse in case of a divorce are not protected.
EU citizenship would also provide you with better work opportunities in academia or business.

Somewhat similar, I'm American but immigrated to the UK when I married someone from here. Been here over a decade now. Absolutely 100% never going back, it's not even a thought. Sadly I know all too well the brain washing we get in America though to think it's the best and everywhere else is terrible. I was actually terrified to move here at first because of a lot of that misinformation. But it's so much better here in so many ways, not just healthcare, so I would never go back.

Im an immigrant from a developing country who immigrated to the states. I once had someone jokingly ask why America can only get 3rd world immigrants these days? Who dont people from 1st world countries come here?

I chuckled and resisted the urge to say America is just a very rich 3rd world country. Its a lateral move in all aspects except money. If i could have gotten into a real first world country I would have. I had few skills and little education when i came here initially though. America is extremely easy to immigrate to. They dont have point systems so they dont get too many unskilled, low education immigrants and you can just purchase your way in and citizenship. Its just about having that money to buy in, which is easy once you get that initial visa and get here.

America isn't a first world developed nation anymore. Its a corrupt 3rd world nation that just happens to have lots of money. It even has hyper inflation and the government deciding who can and cant be on the ballot. The literacy rates are dropping, public schools no longer educate children they are propaganda focused. Theres all manner of violence all over.

As an American who lived overseas and traveled through multiple continents, I can solidly confirm that America is just a wealthy third world country. Underdeveloped as hell, cost of living far outpaces our incomes, our schools are decades behind and don't teach much. I will never forget the expression on the doctor's face in Japan when I described why I had never had my potentially deadly strawberry allergy diagnosed and had simply tried to avoid it, staying awake and taking Benadryl when going into anaphylaxis over the years, because I couldn't afford the tests.

I recently applied for a certificate of German citizenship by descent to give me the option to move there one day. They say it can take up to 3 years to receive it, so who knows if I'll ever make the move.

That crime rate alone deters me from even considering the US for a vacation.

I don't understand why anyone who isn't desperate or filthy rich would _want_ to live there voluntarily.

I haven't heard you talk about friendships yet. Might be that I've missed those videos. If so, then sorry!

I hear from American expats that it's easier to make friends in the USA, but that friendships with us, European, feels more genuine and often even deeper. Is that something you've experienced too?

And you live in southern Germany… meaning you’re just a short car ride away from Italy, France, Vienna, Slovenia, Prague, the Alps…. I mean (And there are beautiful places in Germany too)

My wife's parents had a tenant who was American, and his wife was German. She passed away, and they would not let him stay even though he had a job and was working here. This was 25 years ago so the laws may have changed, but unless you have fully immigrated and have German Citizenship than it may be something you want to look into. Again the laws may have changed, but if you are only on a Visa living with your husband and god forbid something happens they potentially can make you leave.

Healthcare and my husband are the only reason I stay. There's a lot of great things about the UK but I miss the USA a lot but my children need this stability
