Germany is a country with a rich history, remarkable cities, and beautiful landscapes.
Famous for its cathedrals as much as for its fairytale castles and uninhibited nightlife, it is also the seventh most visited country in the world.
Despite being the largest and wealthiest nation in the EU, Germany is overall quite an affordable place to live with cheaper costs than virtually all of its neighbors to the west and north.
With its strong economy and job market, it’s no wonder that moving to Germany is a popular choice for expats looking for work overseas.

If you’re planning to move to Germany then there are a few things that you should take into consideration before you choose a place to live.
If you’re fluent in the language, that’s a plus, but if you’re still learning then it’s a good idea to settle in an area where your native tongue is more frequently spoken.
In most areas, the locals are welcoming to newcomers who move to the country for work or for retirement.
Germans speak German. Of course, they speak other languages such as English, but to get around the country, it is best to at least have some basic language skills.
You might be frowned upon if you have no idea how to say hi, please, and thank you in German.

In this video, we’ll look at the best cities to live in Germany by considering which offer the greatest balance between a high quality of life and affordable living.
Here are the 10 best places to live, visit, or retire in Germany:
1. Berlin. (families, retiree, job, visit)
2. Bremen. (overall)
3. Munich. (families, retiree, job, visit)

I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.

My mom was from Heidelberg Germany. I have visited twice and had fallen head over heels in love with the fairytale like village. I would happily leave America to reside there. Doing the opposite of what my mom did = I’ll never understand how she could leave such a vibrant, gorgeous, beautiful city.

Hi, I was born in Germany and I still live here in the south of Stuttgart. But I never, never want to live in Hamburg, Bremen or Berlin. These cities are really beautiful, but the crime becomes more and more. I recommend some smaler, but very nice cities like Schwaebisch Hall in the North East of Stuttgart. My favorite city is Lindau at the Lake of Bodensee, it's really a nice and safe city and very close to Austria an the Alpes. A very beautiful city in the North of Germany is Luebeck, much safer than Hamburg or Berlin. My favorite city in the North of Germany is Celle, it's so beautiful in the Luenenburg Heide. Another beautiful city by the Baltic Sea is in my opinion the city of Stralsund.

Hey Folks. I should mention something. In Germany there are 2 cities named Frankfurt. NO. 1 is Frankfurt upon Main. Which is mentioned in this video. NO. 2 is Frankfurt upon Oder which is a city near the border to Poland.
Nice greetings from Dresden which is no. 6 in this vid. ;)

Heidelberg is described as flat??? It's considered a great place in which to get around by bike because of its FLAT terrain??? Clearly these people have never been to Heidelberg. It's no San Fransisco--there are areas alongside the river that like most any place along a river is flat, but the rest is decidedly hilly--or ravine-y as it were. It's called HeidelBERG after all--Berg translating to mountain.

If you want to get information where to go to when moving to Germany, look elsewhere. This video was not made by Germans or at least people who know Germany, but by someone who read a little about Germany and misunderstood or did not grasp a lot. An often wrong text was pictured with more or less relevant stock video. There are to many errors in the text to list them.

WC USA, I was stationed In Regensburg (USAF, stationed on a German AF Radar site, on a Mountain on the north side of the City) it is a beautiful old city, was once a Roman outpost over 2000 years ago! The German AF airmen were great, even took a couple of weekend trips home with two of them! I married a Regensburg young lady 61 years ago, 3 great kids, even a great father and mother-in-law that came to visit in USA in NE TN, many times when they were alive! We miss them! I can’t believe how much Germany has changed, they just keep improving and upgrading everything!
