Introduction to the Climate Change Education: from knowledge to action (MOOC)

This online course is dedicated to primary and middle school teachers who want to learn how to tackle the big issue of this century: climate change and its teaching in the classroom.

Climate is often limited to natural science or physics and chemistry. However, you will see through this course that it is possible to integrate this topic into a wide variety of lessons in various disciplines such as geography or even physical education.

Moreover, to help you work on this subject which can be anxiety-provoking, we propose here innovative pedagogical approaches such as the investigative approach, the project pedagogy or the analysis of emotions.

This MOOC has been designed and validated by experts in climate science and pedagogy and consists of 4 modules centered on a series of short videos accompanied by expert analysis and activities to be carried out in class.
These diversified sequences propose various supports such as document analysis, serious games, quizzes that have been tested in dozens of classes around the world.

The first part of the MOOC is dedicated to the understanding of the climate and its impacts and the second part, dependent on the first, develops the pedagogical approach.

Our final goal is to make you autonomous and confident when you approach this great theme with your class. And more than anything, to get you and your students to act!
