Climate science explained in 60 seconds by the Royal Society and the US National Academy of Sciences.

During the last 200 years, human activities such as the burning of fossil fuels have increased concentrations of CO2 in the atmosphere by 40%. If unchecked, continuing emissions will warm up the planet by 2.6°C to 4.8°C by the end of this century. This would have serious implications for human societies and the natural world.

This 60-second animation from the world's two leading science academies brings you the science behind climate change.

CO2 in air is the only and the lonely source of all foods for every creature. All foods we eat are carbon compounds, without one exception, and this carbon has one single source: CO2 in air. All creatures first appearance is a small baby, next they grow on food. Bodies of all creatures are carbon compounds and water, all this carbon is from one single source CO2 in air. CO2 in air is a direct product of fuels combustion, then bodies of all creatures and plants too are from fuels. The SAME carbon atoms of fuels are converted into the bodies of creatures and plants. Our existence on this planet fully depends on combustion of fuels.

Sir Paul Nurse, why don't you speak out publically and critisise the size of the human population. Say it's too big. Critisise the way humans are causing a mass extinction and climate change. I know too many phds and post docs and other scientists, who don't even think there are too many people or don't think human numbers are causing these problems. It is ridiculous that scientists, don't agree on this. This is not new science, it is 19th century science. The lack of agreement is caused because of poor communication from. I think, the Royal Society. It doesn't help that the leading eminent scientists, like you, do not publically crititise. if more people agreed, it would help to fix the problems, .

This would be Climate Change in general terms explained, as opposed to Statistical 30year Climate Change.

I agree. Though I would appreciate citation and references maybe? I'm trying to find a video to best help me explain this to denial types.

The world is screwed because no one gives a shit, and that is sad. People are getting dumber and governments worry about losing money rather that helping the world. If I could I'd stop climate change in a heart beat... but people NEED to spread awareness

I am helping to organise a Northern Ireland's first Climate festival - we would like to play a number of climate related videos throughout the event. May we have permission to play this video of yours at our event?
Thank you. Rebecca Jane.

We need to stop cutting down Trees, from our forests, especaly Scotland as trees take in carbon dioxid and give out oxygen.

The planet Earth, as such, has no problem with this. The problem is for the living beings.
