My husband and I also have global entry (which includes TSA precheck). So much easier for us seniors

If you plan to travel outside the US, I recommend Global Entry. Is $25 dollars more but include TSA precheck. The guy conducting the interview told me not to get in the customs line, just to go to the Global entry line and just look at the camera and continue walking. TSA pre is $75 Global entry is $100

Global entry gets you TSA Precheck included. It's about $100 and had a more in-depth interview and takes longer, but makes coming back into the US much easier.

I've gone to smaller airports that don't have TSA Precheck and they usually hand me a little card that allows me to keep on my shoes and keep my electronics and liquids in my bag. Granted, the line is about 3 people deep, so not a big deal, but they do work with it.

We have Global Entry with KTN. We were most recently offered Digital ID TSA check in when we downloaded our flight passes for a flight on Delta from LGA. It was amazing! The line was only a handful of people and all that is required is that you permit the TSA agent to take your photo with facial recognition. You don't even have to show any physical ID. Incredibly fast! So this will be the next option for travelers as the technology is rolled out.

Hi Nora, I just got TSA precheck, and it was really quick and easy. I also got Global Entry, as it was only $22 more, and can save time when you're coming back to the US. And both are good for five years!

I have used it for years. It is great to alleviate my anxiety. It feels just like before 2001.

I have TSA precheck. However, my husband, who rarely travels, does not. We took a flight last year for medical procedures that i needed to use a wheelchair at both International Airports. One of the two airports let him as my helper go thru precheck like he had it. One made us use standard check-in. Every airport is different.

I went in for my TSA PreCheck appointment last Friday, all I had to do was submit my fingerprints, get my picture taken, and my identification documents processed. And two days later I was approved and issued my known traveler number. The timing couldn’t have been better as I will be traveling to Seattle in two weeks. It will be a welcome change for me as I will look forward to going through security a lot faster than ever.

It has made retirement flying so much easier. Also, if you are going to do even 1 international trip, go ahead and add global entry for only $15 more. Makes like much easier on return flights into the US.

I have both global entry and TSA Precheck. Saved me several times from missing my flight! 😊

We flew into Denver from LHR 2:55 on 22nd June 2023 .12 to 14 kiosks on TSA precheck on entry. 2 for non prechecked travellers. It took nearly 2 and half hours to clear TSA.
We booked in our baggage to fly onwards to Anchorage. Arriving at the TSA for boarding even worse with only one booth open for non Precheck travellers. We never moved for an hour when a US gent and another US family launched into a vitriolic verbal assault on a passing TSA employee. By this time the hall was nearly empty for prechecked. Eventually they opened 3 more kiosks for non prechecked fliers and cleared a queue 40 yards long in half an hour. So it took over 4 hours due to not prechecking. And no will to provide adequate service for ordinary travellers.
To make matters worse our flight was cancelled about 15 minutes before boarding due to a tornado in the locality. Another 3 and a half hours in a queue for tickets for travel the next day.

So to recap we landed at Denver at4pm approx and got a cab to a hotel at 12.30 next day. Tiring day for 2 over 70's.

I just recently got TSA PreCheck and was able to just breeze through with no issues. Before this I would get a pat down almost every time I flew. I love the ease that the TSA PreCheck gave me.

Global Entry has been a game changer for us. Somewhat difficult to get but so worth it when re-entering the US. And it includes PreCheck.

I recently had an experience with TSA PreCheck that was not at fun. Following a recent ankle surgery, I was traveling with a walking boot on my right leg. In both PDX leaving and LIH returning I was pulled aside and asked to remove the walking boot, which was then scanned and wiped down and checked for explosive residue. I was only partially weight-bearing with the walking boot on. After informing the TSA agent of this no accommodation was made for my abillity to stand or walk. Apparently, this is Standard operating procedure for walking boots.

My husband and I only recently began flying regularly to our destinations. Being “of a certain age “, I wanted to make our airport experiences as painless and stress free as possible, so we enrolled in TSAPrecheck. It has made us more comfortable in unfamiliar airports, and well worth the cost.

Thank you again for giving the T.S.A. a break. Most times the crticism is born out of plain ignorance of the passengers (including how much the screeners get paid for a job that often times is performed in a highly toxic atmosphere).

Got my pre check two weeks ago, having an uncommon name had my approval back in 24 hours. I’m traveling next week and can’t wait to use it.

Hello, I got my pre-check last fall. Finally about to crack it open today as the busy travel season for work begins. I have about 15 travel dates over the next 2 months at various airports throughout the country. I’ll be sure to provide updates throughout my travels.

Thanks @nora, Safe travels to all 👍🏽

You should write for the TSA website. You answered my ?s on how long it takes for TSA to process and if you have Global Entry you don't need TSA.
