People gotta chill and stop giving you shit for drag racing oddball stuff, it's all fun and games AND FREE ! Don't like it, don't watch it, life is short.
The old kit held it's ground pretty well ! I honestly thought the gap was going to be more noticeable.

Don't go down the spiral of commenting on people who comment negative things. Keep doing what you are doing. Plain and simple.

The difference is not only the 8-speed transmission, slightly better aerodynamics, and lack of weight; but also the JL has a faster throttle response, which is great. On my JK one of the first and best mods I made was putting on a Sprint Booster to enhance the throttle response. I recommend all JK owners to get one, especially if its your daily driver.

Overall winner = America. I wish I could give 90 thumbs up for that lol

All that difference is the different gear ratios. Run one with the 3.73 in a JK and it will win. It loses a little in top speed but, for a drag race (or off road) the 3.73 is what you want.

Wow the jk hung around way better than i expected given the transmission and gearing disadvantage. Thought the gap would have been way bigger

I want in. My YJ goes 0-60 in literally 30 seconds with the 2.5 lol.

Im still not sold on trading my 2015 jk for to 2018. I think the body and wheels of the older model look much better. Then with the electric assisted motor first run tech stuff it seems dicey. On top of all that I'm a die hard fan of manuals. Maybe just wait and see if the Gladiator will be affordable. Probably go look at these and see if it changes my mind as mine is closing in on 65, 000 miles.

Love my 2018 JL. It sets you back in the seat just fine when you need it!

While the Jeeps are not aerodynamic by any stretch of the imagination, they do indeed have 285 hp, which is not too shabby at all. They are not tortoises. We all know they're not built for Speed but they definitely have a punch when they need to. Fun video. Thanks for posting it up. Stay safe on the trails.

You guys need a drag comparison of the JLUR 3.6L vs the JLUR 2.0L, That would be amazing.

This is without a doubt the most hilarious drag race I’ve seen

You should race all four Wranglers. The CJ, TJ, JK, and JL. Come on down South and I will provide the ‘98 TJ Sport and ‘18 JLU Sahara.

It's fun to watch but I know from my superchips trail pro [only programs the trans] I ran a 14.6 quarter mile run on 35's with steel bumpers and 10k winch

Considering the new model is lighter - I'm impressed with the JK.  I've been looking to buy one but there're pretty rare where I am on the used market. The 2.8 Diesel is more popular - but diesels have gone out of favour AGAIN in the UK!

8 speed is a huge win for the new JL. Better ratios overall are just going to make this vehicle so much more livable. Lower first and taller final OD with tighter spacing all throughout it’s much better. Have an 8 speed in my Ram and it’s been great.

The 8 speed could not have come sooner. So front axle disconnect, slight weight reduction and 8 speed makes for this race difference. Pretty cool. I want the diesel when it comes. Stay away from those 2.0Ls that catch on fire though lol.
