You need to focus on bulk basic food like rice and beans and other dried food you can seal in mylar bags in buckets. For the price of 1 freeze dried portion you can get a months worth of rice and beans

Clean water will be scarce and more valuable then anything needed to survive

Food, water, ammo, 2 weapons, fuel, and medicine is pretty much what you need when shtf

Im prepared for 3 months any longer than that is pointless if you can't live self-sufficient. Im ready, but i know my limitations.

I live off grid an hour out of town . Last night I didn’t have any good food to eat. So I eat a mountain house lasagna that was 7 years old and it was great. I never had that one. Just added it to my favorite list.

So if you’re paying attention, you’re going from freeze dried, to fresh, requiring “refrigeration” in what we’re assuming is some sort of shtf, including a grid down scenario!
Let that sink in

Please, Please make a video about natural springs.
You know, that stuff that you buy in plastic bottles that you drink that comes straight from the source without any need for treatment.
Knowledge of all the natural springs in your area, and their reliabilty will save your life, a hundred times.
Get yourself a local map now, and mark the location of all the natural springs (there will be a lot of them). Having water, or a filtering process will of course be useful. Knowing where you can get this without processing will be gold dust.

I freeze dry a lot of food for various people as well as myself. I always provide re-hydration instructions with each item.
Like re-hydrating BREAD. Use that long time time goofy item the "Bamboo Steamer" It works great with out being a soggy mess you just have to watch the amount of time. It works for bread, cakes and cookies. A steamer is a great item for dehydrated foods.

More of these rehydration tips/videos for freeze-dried foods would be great!

Freeze dried is the most expensive option out there. A can of dinty moore beef stew equivalent in freeze dried food would cost 12 bucks. You only buy if your wealthy and weight is a factor for some reason.

Thank you for the video no one covers this part of freeze dried food. Great video.

Love this stuff!! Finally opened a bag of meatballs to show my husband how they taste and the great texture. He was very pleased. Just placed another order. I also want to say that Steve is a hands on business owner. He has been very helpful. Great products and having them helps me sleep better at night! Thanks Nate for introducing us to Freeze Dried Wholesalers 🙏

A little criticism of this one Nate.
Diversification is more important.
If you are relying on freeze dried a couple of years after the apocalypse, you are pretty much f'd anyway. If there isn't a reliable sustainable natural source of food, you are just playing a ticking clock.
In which case canned is just as good. and certainly has a tougher container, which will probably be a factor in the daily struggle for existence.
I'd say, use as many different conservation methods as possible. Freeze dried, canned, dried, pickled, fermented.
We can also learn a lot from our ancient ancestors. They still sort of exist in places like rainforests. They were mostly nomadic, but on an annual cycle. Moving from place to place regularly throughout the year, then ending up where they began. Why was this important? The people would plant seeds before they left an area, which would be producing when they returned, in the natural annual cycle. They also planted a lot of food producing trees in their annual stop off points. So in reality, they sort of moved from supermarket to supermarket. It also meant that the meat in each area was not over hunted, allowing animals to recover their numbers from hunting.
This sort of mindset is critical, rather than thinking that you can sit on your behind for 20 years eating freeze dried food.
If you think paper napkins, or ziplok bags are going to be readily available in 20 years after SHTF, you are definitely on the wrong track, and anything that is cloth based, even old socks, are going to be extremely precious.

I'm in Texas, the recent hurricane knocked out all power in Houston. I'm still out a whole week now. But PEAK refuel got me going. Boil some water and eat.

Couldn't afford my own freeze dryer, but I got a Magic Mill dehydrator intending to make a bunch of jerky... problem is I keep eating all of it. 🤣

Notice!! Rehydrate meat with part cooking wine and part water. The alcohol will penetrate the meat cells better than just water. We put in the fridge for 48-72 hours after adding this. Trust me, best meat you will ever have. 😉 2:26

We're still alive. Dang Nate you had us all go underground 8 months ago because of immediate nuke threat. Just came out wow is it time to go back in

I like Steve's stuff. It ain't cheap, but there really is a huge difference between quality freeze dried, and the garbage in the buckets.
