Mastic originally comes from some specific trees at Hios, Greece, it's the only place where it can grow correctly, it's very healthy for you. also for us it costs around 2-3€😅

Well I am from Greece and I know some things about mastic gum.
The Greek word is : Μαστίχα (Mastìha). It is mostly produced on the island Χίος ( Hìos). (That I am going this summer) It is from a tree and it is a very difficult product to get because it takes some time. In Greece it is sold in every city and village for the price of 2€ the packet( which is mostly tiny) with 7 or 8 mastic gums( I think 2.22$ U.S Dollars). And that's all I know!!!❤❤❤

FunFact: Mastic gum is actually REALLY GOOD for the stomach EVEN if swallowed!
It coats the stomach lining and helps digest food easier.

Here in morroco, mastic gum is everywhere. Everybody has atleast one pack of these, we take it basically everyday, it's weird seeing a video talk about it like it's the most rarest thing in the world

It does come from a tree actually and it is natural and healthy for you and your teeth, it will get digested and pass anywhere from 20 minutes to 8 hours to even 2 days.

Fun fact about mastic gum trees: In the ancient times like 1468 turkey took over Hios ( the place where mastic gum grows) and they took the tree seeds and tried to plant them in turkey but they didnt grow at all and just died which means Hios has special ground.

It looks like it comes from a tree because it does, you're completely right. A specific type of tree has sap that when processed becomes the perfect gum, it's also the first type of gum like the video said. They would also have used it as adhesive for primitive tools/weapons.
