I got septicemia in my arm when I was a kid, the doctor told me if I had of left it another day they might of had to amputate my arm, and a day or so after that and it would of gotten to my heart and killed me. I don't think about it often, but when I do it still shocks me on how much that one event could of changed my life. Just for clarification I got it after a bee stung me and the infection got in through the puncture wound it left in my skin.

Here's some random food for thought: We know the brain is very neuroplastic, and it will compensate for the loss of senses by heightening the sensitivity of those it has left. However, if a person is placed in a sensory deprivation environment, so they cannot hear, see, smell etc. anything, then how will the brain compensate for this? Will it heighten the sensitivity of all (or at least some) of one's senses, or will they decrease in sensitivity (maybe after an initial increase)? The latter I am basing off of how cavefish can no longer see because they evolved for so long in a dark environment and had no need for their eyes. Of course any actual study of this would probably take a really long time, but it is an interesting thought experiment.

Since my spleen was removed 40 years ago I've always felt tired.
I've tried telling my Drs over and over but none seem to take me seriously.
I get serious depression too. My eyes are always red and I just feel crap all the time.

Omg ! Swollen lymph nodes for over a year with 203/105 bp rate up until Jan 2021 . Angioplasty set it off followed by abscess which nodes never went down . It feels like a quarter is in my throat, chest, digestion, nerves totally . 😳
