HP TouchPad: Hands on review

HP Touchpad emerges to take on the iPad 2, Motorola XOOM, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, BlackBerry PlayBook and HTC Flyer. T3 takes a closer look in a HP TouchPad review hands-on

The HP TouchPad is now available to pre-order from Carphone Warehouse, but we have to admit it's been a long-time coming. Announced back in February this year, the tablet shuns Apple's iOS and Android Honeycomb to run HP's own webOS.

The tablet touts an iPad-matching 9.7-inch, 1024x768 screen, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.4GHz processor, which means this thing is lightning quick. It needs to be seeing as it has webOS's full multitasking smarts, with Cards and Stacks, as well as being a 'true visualisation of your workspace'. Marketing flimflam aside, it really is designed to be the most worker-friendly tablet ever.

Does it live up to the hype? Take a look at our HP TouchPad video for a closer look.

I think this would be a great tablet if HP worked on the apps store, and should have added a camera on the back to compete with the competition.
