Good tutorial! I had an old HP laptop that I got in 2017 and had 100% disk usage. I had a similar problem when I first got it but that was because of mcaffe (what a surprise) but I found out today that the hard disk was failing on it and that it was stuck at 100% just idle.Couldn’t be bothered to replace the hard disk because I have a better laptop with an SSD.

If this problem only lasts for 30 minutes on startup and then acts normal is there a fix for that? Its annoying that it only happens when I start my computer up then I have to wait literally 30 minutes then its fast again. i have tried everything. and this only happened after an update i think. i built my rig in 2020. never had this problem.

When i play a game, the "system" process goes to 20% every 10 minutes circa..i have tried reinstalling the game and formatting windows but that didn't do anything. Any idea of what it could be?

I updated my windows version lastnight and ever since then my disc usage has been 100. I can’t even open the task manager without my laptop crashing. I don’t understand as it’s a good spec laptop

I have a ssd kingston A400 with 480gb my disk usage goes to 100% every few minutes even if task manager is only program that's running .Pc start up lasts about 5 to 6 minutes and that's terrible when i do factory reset pc works normally for about 1 or 2 months and start up lasts about 20 seconds but after 1 or 2 months it just starts to have 100 disk usage and everything starts to work unusualy . Do you have any tips and should i buy new ssd?

My laptop has 4 GB ram and 1tb hard disk, it always shows 100% disk usage and when I check it is usually System, antimalware service executable, Windows update or any other thing which I can't even end. I only use my laptop to watch movies or for YouTube, Gmail etc
What should I do... I tried a lot of methods but nothing works, does increasing ram or adding ssd permanently fix this issue? Please help

Does RAM effect the disk usage. I have 8gb ram installed with i5 3570k , but I am still facing this problem.

Ive been having the same problem and just found out that if you have micro sd in your system and take it out, the disk rill go to 100% but if you eject it from menu it wont go up

ah, mine is 14mb in disk at highest caused by 'system'
i've tried so many other ways to solve the 100 disk space but it just keeps rocketing up i cannot fix it

no matter if its '0.3mb' or anything, it's always at 100 disk space and i've tried all the common solutions and more
