I'm 55 years old and I wish, sometimes, I still had "Uncle Fred" to talk to about the scary stuff.

With all the hate in this world and harm that happens to our little ones we need Mr Rogers more now then ever.

Ah goodness, at that time, it feels like he’s more talking to the adults - talking them through it - than talking to the kids. He’s talking to the adults who were children who grew up with him, and who suddenly faced a very different world. His kind of voice is something indelible and priceless. I wish we still had him around.

He was so amazing. I was born in 2001 and always thought the 2000s was the best time to be a young child. Since I have been watching Mr Rogers lately, I kinda wish I was older so I could have enjoyed him more and had more experience with him

“Their fantasies are much different than the truth”
I remember when 9/11 first happened and I was only 14, a lot of the other kids believed it was a full scale invasion and that cities all over the country would be attacked, especially because of the 3rd plane that was in a completely different state.
We didn’t really understand terrorism so we assumed it was a war and happening right in our country and that life would never be normal (and you could say that was true but I mean in a much worse sort of way like what Ukraine is going through right now. As in we thought our country would be a war zone)

If everyone was like this man we'd live in the closest thing to utopia man is capable of making

So much of his advice is so perfectly suited to... the state of things at the time. But sometimes you look at later developments and realize they don't apply perfectly well. I mean, the news IS just children's fantasies now. And the worst part isn't even the lies, but the few parts that are somehow true.

He knew how to comfort the poor kids who saw the horrifying acts of terror commited on the twin towers, pentagon, and seeing the towers fall. Those poor kids.. so innocent. Seeing thousands die on the news
