He talked about a lot of serious topics that are hard to talk about to kids. He talked about love and divorce, assassination, death, rape, addiction, and a lot more.


Sesame Street also talked about those topics. Like the character Julia who was autistic and was also struggling with anxiety. And also having your parents behind bars, and more.


Same with reading rainbow. Levar burton read books that dealt with a lot of serious issues. Like not feeling like you’re good enough, feeling depressed, not feeling skinny enough, racism, etc.

I think everyone is crying watching this, because it’s true for everyone, we’re human, but the more technologically that comes out we put our mental well being further and further back on priorities, or we just weren’t raised to know how to care for ourselves mentally. I grew up watching him as a lot did during his time alive ( GenX)🙋🏼‍♀️ and the world then and ESPECIALLY NOW 2024 needs Mr Rogers more than EVER! Wish he could have become president, a lot of things would be DRASTICALLY different for the better. Wish he was still with us❤️

Actual angel walking amongst us. I feel like so many of the folks we put on a pedestal end up disappointing us but Mr rogers actually was the person we all thought he was and more.

I think the realest part of him is that all of his caring and empathy came from a place of deep personal struggle and insecurity and he harnessed that feeling to teach others who are feeling the same that those feelings are okay and that everyone is special all the same.
