The Dark Past - Movie Review

"The Dark Past" was a 1948 crime movie starring William Holden and Lee J. Cobb. What I really appreciated about this film was the fact that with both of these actors, they played a reversal of characters I'm generally familiar with seeing them as. William Holden, who usually plays the good guy in films like Stalag-17 or Sunset Boulevard, here plays the bad guy, who with a bunch of friends holds Lee J. Cobb and his family as hostage. As they are there, Lee J. Cobb uses the power of psychology to try to help William Holden's character overcome his life of crime, through diagraming the human head and also doing dream analysis.
