I discovered a body once. She was my upstairs neighbor and we were great friends. She always looked after my partner and I, planning meals and insisting on providing all the food, and we looked after her by fixing things around the house, taking her for errands and apts, and anything else we could. Mostly my partner got really close to her, they were like best friends.
Anyway, one morning he heard a loud thump upstairs, before I was awake. Later on, when she didnt come down to have a smoke with us like she always did when she woke up, we thought something might be wrong.

So, we both went up there, to check in and bring her some smokes because we assumed she just ran out.
Well... after looking in the bedroom, living room, kitchen etc, and noticed her pets acting strangely, i finally checked the bathroom.
There she was.
She had died on the toilet, fell forward and smashed her face on the shelf across from the toilet. It didn't hit us that she'd be dead already. My partner started CPR immediately and I called 911.

They didnt even really try CPR, and then took forever to pull away from our curb once they'd taken her. I was pissed because my mind wouldn't let me believe she was dead... but she was announced dead on arrival.

Jay and I will miss you u til the end of time. You were such a magical woman, Diana. Rest in Peace.
