I use the same system for the same reasons.
Here's a bonus tip that I have only heard mentioned on one other channel, but it really helps with longevity for your filter.
When you backflush your filter, after your flushed water looks clear, bang the filter on the palm of your hand, then backflush it more. You will be surprised how much more yuck you get out of the filter with this process. Repeat until it's crystal clear.
I don't do this every time I backflush, but when I'm finished with a trip, I do it before sanitizing and storing my filter.

My strategy is the 2 gallon sawyer bag, filter, then hose. What you do is, you hang it on a tree, then balance the smart water bottle on the ground with the hose dangling in it. Then you forget about it, let it overflow, and it tips over. The final step is you just stare at it and feel shame.

Perfect timing. I was literally researching water filters and this popped up in my subscriptions 45 min ago.

Yep. The Sawyer squeeze, blue coupler and Cnoc Vecto are the ultimate combination.

This is nuts. This setup has been the best one ever since CNOC came up with these wide mouth opening water bags. I know I've had mine for at least 4-5 years already, and I got them because someone already presented this combination on YouTube after having used it themselves for a year or 2, and that's even knowing back then that the CNOC water bags tended to leak (2 of the 4 I own leak) and even crack (1 of the 4 I own cracked) at the neck of the screw cap. I still keep and use them with my Sawyer minis. THAT is how old this setup is.

Great tip! Good to know there are other options to the Sawyer bags that come with the squeeze. I had 2 Sawyer bags burst on a backcountry hunt, not only leaving me without a water filter option, but splashing water into my clean Nalgene bottle.

I switched to a BeFree filter using a Hydrapak Seeker 3L dirty bag, the flow rate is awesome. However, your system seems pretty sweet as well.

I use a Steripen along with an older platypus system with a carbon filter also. However theres too many pieces with this kit. Im going to try your syrem keeping it simple. I bought a really cool "brown filter bag" from England . Its for highly turbidity waters as a pre filter bag before anything else. I also carry disinfection tablets if needed.

Any suggestions as I want to hanging and fill by gravity bag to bag ? I don't want the bottle combo.

This is what I use you can’t beat it. I’ve used the same filter setup for two years now. Have to have the cnoc bag tho there is no other way

Good setup
I have been using that exact setup for about 4 years now however the sawyer filter is not always able to pass water even though i take care of it, I have had to replace it a couple times. Thinking B free filter. As for Cnoc bag it is hands down # 1 in my opinion.

How do you backflush the Sawyer without a syringe? You briefly mentioned that at the end, but didn't demonstrate it. Could you elaborate on how that would work?

Anybody know if you can do the same with the LifeStraw Peak Series Solo by unscrewing the sippy side?

Currently there is no better system on the market. I have used this exact set up for two years. It rocks. PRO tip: take an extra bottle cap from any 28mm bottle poke a bunch of holes in it with a hot needle and screw that little puppy on for a SHOWER Kit😮 😊lol😂
