Halleluyer.  Someone doing makeup on YouTube that isn't 12.  Love it.  46 here (I think. I have no memory anymore either), and looking to expand my makeup horizons and attempt to look less like the Crypt Keeper.  Go you.

I thought the Laura mercier powder was absolutely stunning on you Angie. Its def not matte, but its not oily like you felt either. It gave you just a really healthy "glow". And that is what made it look so youthful and gorgeous on you. Part of aging is the "dullness" that comes with mature skin, not just wrinkles. You're also way to hard on yourself, you look gorgeous for fifty!! The bare minerals looked great too, but I would give the "original" a try, again, for a bit more glow. I used to only wear the matte bare minerals, but I got a sample of the original, and I fell in love. At first I HATED the "sheen" I thought it looked "oily", now I think my skin looks so dull, dry and extra wrinkled with the matte. I don't know... Bottom line, you have to be comfortable but wanted to share another opinion...your daughter wasn't all wrong ;)

NYX presented the best in the pictures. I personally like it and I find myself using it more often than my studio Fix by Mac.

I always spray a finishing spray or MAC Fix + when I apply powder. To get rid of that powdery look. MAC Fix is my favorite for more than 10 years now.

I tried liquid on my mature skin hated applying every morning, went back to powder.Right now enjoying PUR cosmetics 4 in 1 powder foundation.

I guess I’m one of the MAC believers. I love Studio Fix makeup. Of course, I use a light hand applying, but I’m a nurse and it will last a good 14 hours.

I’m a few years late watching this, but I recently started using the Mac studio fox powder after using bare minerals for years and love it so much! It only takes a light hand and it’s so quick and forgiving to apply. I imagine too many layers would absolutely be overkill.

I currently use Mac studio fix and I love it!! I am 51 yrs old and to me I don't think it looks cakey or settles in my wrinkles, It actually looks real nice on your skin I don't know we're the plastic waxy look comes from.

I am 43 and this really helped. I am a powder person too, and I looove pur minerals 4 in 1 pressed powder. They sell it at Ulta. The Nyx looked better than any of them in this video.
