What Causes Spotting During Pregnancy?

Spotting is common at the start of conception when a fertilised egg attaches to your uterus. As well as during pregnancy when blood vessels develop in your cervix causing sensitivity due to the increase in blood flow. So, things like a gynaecological exam or sex can cause spotting. It can also happen closer to the birth as it marks the beginning of your “bloody show” which means baby is on the way. It is always a good idea to get checked out by the doctor as it could be the sign of a serious issue.
