You ever struggle with the balance between YOLO and delayed gratification? Like you want to say screw it and enjoy the fancy car now but if you were to just wait a few years you would be able to much better afford it. Or you don’t spend any money or invest in fear of not having enough or losing it all etc. Money anxiety is real and it affects people on both ends of the spectrum, whether you spend excessively or operate from a place of scarcity.

So spending too much money is clearly a problem. We all know it’s not good to make more than you spend. But what about the people who are on the opposite end of the spectrum and they don’t spend at all to the point of nauseum? If you get anxiety from spending money or maybe from being a first time investor and have anxiety of losing money then watch this video because I discuss tips that have helped me manage my money anxieties.

In this video I want to talk about the balances between living lavish now and trying to save so you can live like a BAWSE later.

So my money anxiety as you know is due to experiencing homelessness and joblessness and like you having little to no help during that time. The way it manifested is having a spending problem where Ill spend but in the cheapest way possible. It brought a lot of low vibrational energy into my closet and it dampened my self esteem because I never felt like I had the best articles of clothing, candles, you name it! I’m struggling to buy expensive things but I’m learning to trash the old and refuse to add more to my closet, toiletry cabinet, or makeup storage without it being something more high quality. You did a great job coming up with ideas that’ll help. For me, I think monthly I’ll start to budget $150 a month to buying high quality items to re-up my wardrobe over time. That way, by the end of the year, I have more quality pieces without feeling like I broke the bank!

I like this first tip— just budget for what you should spend on

Yessss! The more I educated myself personally, the more I became more confident with investing.

Yeah, I’m working on realizing that better quality clothes, though more expensive, will last longer. But I’m like $25 for a cami!? It’s $3 over at that store! Ughhh my anxiety is REAL

While I try 2 be responsible, YOLO is my default - 70/30. I want 2 live and enjoy the present while its here bc the future is not guaranteed and while I still choose 2 spend responsibly (I was blessed with relatively humble tastes in what I find satisfying) I rarely w/hold anything from myself. I dont want to wait to enjoy the fruits of my hard work. Regarding retirement and the future, ultimately, I trust the Most High to ensure I'm taken care.

Girl yes 😑😔😔😔 i work so hard for my money, im talking hard on the body labor and have saved a pretty decent amount of money. However, i have a serious issue with treating myself to things that i want & know that i can afford. I believe it is because 1. I always grew up with what i NEEDED thanks to my mom she even did her best to provide what we may have wanted (to an extent) she never had money like that so we didnt really get the new designer stuff but we were atleast clothed with clean clothes, no holes, not raggedy ect) .... as i became an adult i started working & i always kept money, atleast 1k sense age of 18 but there were a few times when i found myself jobless & only a few bucks in my pocket & it was the worst feeling ever even though i never found myself having to ask anyone except my mom for maybe a few bucks. Now i am living on my own, my mother passed last year & i have a serious hesitation to spend money because i dont want to ever get back to 12 bucks in my account & literally not calling ANYONE for help but just having to figure it out & get 2 jobs. Smh i have more than a few thousands now & only buy essentials. I want to find a happy healthy balance.

You gotta buy the things you need every now and then you buy something you want. To treat yourself. Good morning 🌄 one tip a older lady told me it's not how much you make it's what you do with your money

Great video SISTAH Krystal, I personally feel ppl that are or have an immigrant mentality seem to be more savers than spenders.

I have such a fear of spending on stuff for ME that’s not necessary but is a “treat yourself item.. that I end up spending on EVERYthing else under the sun that’s for the house or car or something my brain says is practical but they’re really not immediately necessary either!!! So I end up missing out on the “fun” item I want in favor of the .. new vacuum ..couch cover..bigger garbage can.. •_• I SHOULDA GOT THE ART CLASS I WANTED OR THE NEW DRESS I EYED FOR MONTHS. Why do I have a fear of getting the things I’d like once in awhile and instead will spend all on practical house stuff 🥲🥲🥲booo lol

I'm a fan of your thumbnails, but I hate this one with a passion.

Financial conservatism has worked out for me. Lessons learned though:

1. Cheap costs the most
2. Don't get played into what you don't really need
3. Things don't bring happiness, experiences do though

The trauma of having a parent lose a job, going Christmases without presents or just underwear, having to buy my mom a car because hers broke, it's sobering. It's a good lesson though, feels good to be responsible and it's something I look for in a partner. This social media flex, Yolo bs is so stupid, love it when those people out themselves and become so easy to avoid. Don't cry for me tho I been unemployed 6 months and still got more money than most.

It's okay girl I got my vaccine 💙
