Congratulations! I’m building as well. Things Ive learned: take photographs of everything you pick as far as tile, floor etc. photograph every stage of your build. Don’t go overboard on options. Spend on lighting as much as you can. Never have too many lights. Get a tub! And make your showers nice. Spend on soft close cabinets and drawers. Get as many windows as you can. Carpet bedrooms! And spend on the highest cabling you can for your electrical and internet network. I also added a hard line for phone just in case the zombies 🧟‍♀️ ….so excited to see your home come to life. Oh lastly… hire an independent inspector apart from the builder. It can really save you in the long run.

Just curious as don't live in the USA but HOW does a 22yr old couple afford to build what looks to be a mansion by comparison to the average first home. There seemed to be no limit as what fittings and fixtures you included too. This is the kind of house most people could only ever dream of even after moving up the property ladder from smaller homes or saving for 20 years or renovating up from a more modest house let alone build as a first home? What's your secret, perhaps that might be something worth making some videos on, helping other couples starting out like you were.
