Vitamin D Deficiency, Ibs, and some of the other things you mentioned in Autistics are not the cause of Autism. They are a result of the chronic state of stress, most Autistics are under and the PTSD that develops from that Stress.

I agree with everything you said. I have always wondered why it was rising. It seemed like every time I turned around everyone had autism.

I agree with everything you stated especially the increase in kids being diagnosed and environmental toxins

Ok there's a few details that you left out in regards to the diagnosis argument. You are indeed right that Black and Brown children were far less likely to be diagnosed 20 years ago. But more studies found that black children were more likely to be diagnosed if they came from wealthy or moderately wealthy families who were able to afford a diagnosis to begin with. That doesn't mean that poor kids weren't getting autism: It means that they were autistic, but not getting diagnosed. Since healthcare has become more affordable in recent years, we're now seeing diagnosis's with families that don't have financial security. Which unfortunately, due to years of systemic racism had overwhelmingly affected mostly black and brown communities.

There's also the factor that a lot of girls where often missed in diagnosis at early stages in life, due to the fact that Autism was incorrectly perceived as being a "boy's condition". On top of a lot of gender bias in the medical industry. There was a report out of the UK, where an alarming number of women who got an Autism diagnosis later in life; were either dismissed as "having PMS" even at a young age, or misdiagnosed with BPD. The latter of which, has caused a lot of problems for their quality of life in later years. Yes, doctors can indeed be that sexist.

And finally there's the fact that in 2013, the DSM criteria expanded to include other disorders, including Aspergers under the statistic for autism. That moment alone would dramatically balloon diagnosis numbers, as children who were previously diagnosed under one of those umbrella conditions were now seen as part of the official autism count. While later children who would have fallen under one of those marks wouldn't have been part of that statistic if if wasn't for the merger.

Also considering there's no hard evidence of specific environmental factors. I'm starting to wonder if the only reason why it's there; is to appease people who want someone to blame for their child being autistic? The gut inflammation argument was debunked a few years back. What researchers found, is that due to taste sensory issues: Autistic people tended to have more restrictive diets. Thus their food palletes tend to lack the variety that gut microbiomes need to function properly. In otherwords: Autism causes gut issues, not the other way around.

Agree everyone I know has got at least one child with autism. My child goes to mainstream school and 20 of the 30 kids in his class have autism. In the year below him the entire class have autism. If new up to date figures came out it wouldn’t surprise me if the numbers weren’t extremely high at least a third of the population. Maybe autism is an evolutionary step and everyone being born will be autistic.

I watched a video that talked about that sometimes it is harder to diagnose a female due to masking. Interesting
As the article stated different factors play in the cause of Autism..probably more to be discovered in the future.

Toxins, pesticides, gut issues are all environmentally related. The air we breathe, the food we eat and some of the drugs we take. Unhealthy practices.
