This woman needs to be fired. I'm not sick nor do I need to be "cured!"

It's 2023 and we're STILL treated like sub human!

I just would like to know why this happens. As a parent with an autistic son I have a lot guilt that I did something wrong that I caused it.

I am not broken. I am not diseased. I am not in need of a cure. I am not a burden. I am not a menace. I am not helpless. I am not a mistake. I am not defective. I am not a freak.

I am different. I am unusual. I am in eeed of support. I am in need of acceptance.

Autism is not a disease that needs to be cured, it’s a different way of thinking and we’re not projects that people need to fix

I have been on the autism spectrum since I was 3. And being on the autism spectrum for so long, I can tell you there’s no cure for autism. If you’re born with it, you had to take a lot of medicine for it.

In 1960 it was 1 in 1500, 13 years ago, it was 1 in 110. Now, 1 in 34.

Can we ask why the Centers for Disease Control is still responsible for tracking autism numbers? Autism isn't a disease, nor something we should be preventing.

Imagine if the number of people who were LGBT where tracked by the CDC.

The definition of what autism is today is MUCH broader than it was 30 or 40 years ago. I'm on the spectrum but if you met me for the first time, you couldn't tell. I don't stim in any way. Stimming is doing things such as hand flapping or rocking back and forth. I am sensitive to noise. The worst thing for me is fireworks, I cannot stand them. I don't need supportive employment and can 100% live independently. I have a drivers license and can drive alone. I actually drive for a living. I'm an Amazon delivery driver. Autism shouldn't stop you from going out and being independent and making a living.

If you watch an investigation from the BBC's Panorama show many diagnosis results are from private companies who do the diagnosis remotely and spend very little time doing it. There is an interesting fact that should be checked and that is are cases of classic autism on the rise. If this is the case then something very strange is going on. In the u.k. our annual birth rates have dropped by 320, 000 since the 1960's, from the average of 1 million per annum. If classic cases have increased in this period then something is obviously driving it and it is not new ways of seeing autism
