I feel like older generations are trying to manufacture a gen z and millennial feud. I’ve yet to meet a single person in my generation (millennial) that cares what gen z is up to beyond mild curiosity. We don’t wear our hair or clothes to appease younger people, we don’t sit around and talk crap about them for how they dress. If anything I’ve seen us either ironically or unironically embrace some of the silly terms being come up with by gen alpha and gen z. I don’t think any of us actually care as much as it’s being made out we do. If anything I’ve see millennials praise gen z for being more accepting and compassionate of their peers than our own were when we were young.

I keep hearing about a feud between millennials and Gen z but I don’t feel like there is one tbh lol

As somone who quite literally exists between both generations (last year of millennials), I can say that there's more that unites us than divides us. We're much more alike than different

Here in Brazil, gen z is leading the moviment "life beyond work" that advocates for the end of the 6x1 scale (where you work 6 days and take 1 day off) and honestly, based af

I'm one of the older Millenials, I think it through alot of us off (and still does) when we started working everything was going great as far as we knew. I had a great job, got a house etc. Then the world started falling apart and didn't really bounce back so that screws up your outlook on damn near everything.

3:14 “Omg these young people and their filters.”

Although yes, going overboard with filters (not the jokey, fun ones) is not ok but idk manipulating your image in the media existed even when royals commissioned portraits of themselves.

As an elder Gen Z I don’t think there’s really that much of a difference. The key difference is humor (millennial humor is a seen as a bit annoying but not terrible). I don’t even think the “adult child” thing is exclusive to millennials. I think each generation has had their experience of feeling quite aimless and fumbly in their 20’s. I think that’s just how being in your 20’s is. I think since older generations abided by structures like marriage and having children more than millennials and gen z, they were forced to “grow up” and do adult things better. But to younger generations a lot of older people seem to have an emotionally stunted attitude. I also think that due to the internet millennials have a platform to connect, express and question life as it is on a broader scale that ever before and for the first time we are hearing the qualms of the common man.

As a gen z (2004) born to a boomer father and a gen x mother i find it hard to cope normally in this time

I don’t feel the feud we are supposed to be having. I am a zillenial and I love gen z for their wit and courage to stickup for their ideals just as we did as teens and young adults. I worry about their screen time and lack of offline experiences but so do I worry for mine after the pandemic. I think the millenials were the first ones to really feel their emotions and get therapy and change the world with including that perspective. Gen z is the same, I’m just happy the young people question the status quo. If we want to change the world we need us all united

There is some generational difference in how people speak and how much of their childhood was affected by the rise of the internet. I was born in '98 and I've often considered myself a baby Millennial because my parents are Boomers and we got the internet a little later because we couldn't afford it at the time. For me being a Millennial means a lot of those things mentioned but also that I never got into Snapchat and I still haven't gotten the hang of Tiktok 😂 Gen Z lingo flummoxes me and Gen Alpha's "gyatt" infuriates my very soul.

At the end of the day we are, mostly, all a bunch of losers who are not part of the elite club so why fight each other. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏾‍♂️

as a january 1998 baby I've always felt like I've had a foot in each millennial and gen z with older cousins very firmly millennial and a younger sister who is very gen z I can confirm we are all just ready to inherit the world and make it better for those coming after us

So happy this is a safe space from all the Gen Z vs Millennials fighting

I think I'm kind of in between a Millenial and Gen Z, since I'm 25 and was born in 1999. I don't think they're really all that different. And the youngest generation now is Gen Alpha, which I think, are the kids, preteens, and early teens of today.

One thing that probably connects us, is we mostly grew up with separate parents. We know the struggle it had on them, many of us even date each other now because of our shared experiences. Like i cant compare to my cousins who are apart gen x who own homes

Im still apart of the young Millennial 32 here. But im definitely seeing the lack of experience in the adult world is making me see the younger generations a bit frustrating. I work in healthcare upgrading my skills set so im getting educated with the 20s youths now. People who entered school when i left, i feel like im the old man trying to impart my wisdom now

Elder Millenial here. I started out raised Evangelical conservative, but I've become way more liberal as I've gotten older.

As an elder millennial, we need to support Gen Z. We tried our best but got no support from Gen X, nor love of Boomers. Gen X screwed us because of their apathy. Not to pull a Boomer stance and self grandize our accomplishments, we did what we could with no support. We paved the way, broke the ice so Gen Z can carry the torch. But our work is not done they will need help, and now we are getting, slowly but surely into positions to help them, in the workforce, politically, etc, we must give them the assistance they need to make the positive changes.
