what helps me sometimes is reading short books, childrens books and poetry collections, , when i see my goodreads challenge number going up, it makes me want to keep reading!

Sometimes I do a fun page tracker (not exactly a bullet journal, but the closest I get!) and I get to color a square every time I read 50 pages of a book--it's a great motivator for me because I also like to check things off!

I don’t like yearly reading goals because a reading goal does not care whether the books you read that year are 200 pages or 600 pages, so then people never get a chance to read longer books, but usually choose only shorter ones to reach their goal. I like to alternate between long and short books and not have to stress out over some arbitrary goal I made up.

I kind of go through “book spurts”.... as a Band teacher, i have very little time to read at work and during busy concert seasons! But I take summer break to catch up on the reading I couldn’t do at other times of the year 😂 however, this year I’ve been a lot more consistently reading, even when I’m in a busy season. Even a little bit here and there helps.

Sometimes I'm watching your video and I swear we're there same person hahaha I love all these tips, I think I use all of them (though I don't read quite as many books)! One thing that helps me stay out of reading slumps is being active in the booktube and bookstagram community--hearing others talk about books gets me really excited to read :)
