Wild Mountain Thyme Lyrics

O the summer time has come
And the trees are sweetly bloomin'
And the wild mountain thyme
Grows around the bloomin' heather
Will ye go lassie go

Chorus:
And we'll all go together
To pull wild mountain thyme
All around the bloomin' heather
Will ye go lassie go

I will build my love a bower
By yon pure crystal fountain
And round it I will place
All the flowers o' the mountain
Will ye go lassie go

And we'll all go together
To pull wild mountain thyme
All around the bloomin' heather
Will ye go lassie go

I will range through the wilds
And the deep glen sae dreamy
And return wi' their spoils
Tae the bower o' my dearie
Will ye go lassie go

If my true love he were gone
I would surely find another
To pull wild mountain thyme
All around the bloomin' heather
Will ye go lassie go
And we'll all go together
To pull wild mountain thyme
All around the bloomin' heather
Will ye go lassie go

Ella, my grandfather was the greatest man I've ever known. He passed away a couple months ago with the whole family around him listening to your singing. Thank you.

This was my late wife's favorite song since first hearing it at a Murphy's Pig gig. After she passed, I attended a Pig's show and requested it From John Graham but, sadly he said that he couldn't reach the high notes anymore. I was elated to see him the video, this time with a prettier singer than him. I have never really listened to Ella, but I was in tears hearing her, the memories of my wife flooding back. Thank you, John, for enticing me to listen and thank you Ella for such a beautiful rendition. I have a strong Celtic heritage and a love of Celtic music.

I lost my wife last month and this was always one of our favorite songs. It's much more poignant now but just as beautiful.

Beautiful. Brought tears to my eyes. I am that old man with a dead wife, with memories of when we were young.

My Dad was a mountain of a man, I loved his red beard. The years faded away and he never got to see his 4 grandsons turn into the men he would be so proud of. All are mountains of men, sporting beards. The days go by so fast. Thank you for your beautiful music.

I'm from Brazil, a country far away, by chance I discovered Celtic music a few years ago, since then I've always listened to it and this video was suggested to me, I was struck by the voice, the beauty of the singer and these spectacular images and I pray to God that in this life I can one day visit Ireland and Scotland is the origin of the songs I fell in love with

Hello. I am a seasoned war veteran from the old country, and I have been on four international tours.
During my deployments, if I had ever heard this song sung by this girl, I swear by the All Father I would have dropped my weapons (and my shield) immediately.
This is so beautiful…
Next time I am wakened by nightmares (yes, vikings also have bad dreams) I will rise, make some coffee and listen to this song a hundred times.
No more war.
Thank you so much from Tino, 🇩🇰 🎗🎗🎗

When I hear this beautiful song it brings back to times I held my dear wife as she was getting sicker and knew her time on this earth was coming to an end. She loved this song and it is a way that I can be with her in spirit for a short time. Thank you from my heart

An exquisitely beautiful girl with an equally glorious voice... beautiful scenery...a beautiful song.
If this doesn't reach your heart.. you don't have one.

Only real love died just about 25 years ago. She was killed. Her name was Heather. Heather Marie. Im 42 years old now. My heart breaks everytime that I dream. We all know love. Some loves only come once. I hear this. And I wept. Not only for my lost youth. Yet I never could let go. No one ever. Thats on me. I thank you for this amd the amazing voice delivering it. Maybe one day I'll see my Heather again in more than just a dream.

As a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, I have an affinity for the Irish people and the rendition of this song is simply astounding. I also really like how Ms. Roberts works her family into the video. Thank you very much for producing such a work of art. For an Australian you make a wonderful Irishwoman. :)

As a Puerto Rican kid growing up in New York my friends thought I was strange for living this type of music. I am an adult now and still love it.

There is so much hope in this song. I lost my husband in an accident nine months ago, and this song helps me remember that my life isn't over - that there is life after loss. It makes it easier to keep going.
